Your Image has impact, Les. I favor the middle branch and how its diagonal direction serves to lead the viewer to the main shadow. Your image is also appealing due to how one's eyes want to scan through the many paths and detail within in the shadow cluster. The complimentary colors serve this image well and the technical camera factors are fine. My only suggestion would be to open the shadows to a degree. I find the stark black areas pull my eyes away from the small tree. |

Yes Grace, with the exception of a small boost with Vibrance, it is the real color. |

The California Poppies are eye catching and beautiful. Great example of the use of complimentary colors. I like how you have drawn attention to the foreground. While orange really pops, no pun intended, against the white wall, overall, the viewer's eye is strongly pulled into the wall.

Impactful for the story told and for the strong color contrast between yellow and the black hue given off the wall. Of all the reflections of tree limbs onto the wall, and the belief they are coming from behind the subject, I would concur with changing the upper right to a blue sky. One would expect a darkened reflection but agree opening the shadow under the gentlemen's hat or changing exposure would eliminate that distraction.
Great capture Tom.
