Lloyd, colorful, crisp fall image leading viewer right to hiker. Nice. From my viewpoint I would offer as my opinion only to cropping out the trees altogether, then removing some of the detail in the roadway as Tom has suggested. Also, then weigh whether to tone down the brightness of the flowers, with balance in mind. Very nice. |

Tuhin, really nice story, young child's affection for their pet dog. Nice complimentary soft lighting and tan/grey colors. Excellent photograph, |

Gorgeous image Tony. Nice to see a sunset image not blown out. Leading lines of palm trees, and subtle leading lines from cloud pattern on both sides, Heavier clouds hold consistent tonality. Extra, waves crashing against beach |

I find the image quite interesting - seaman focused on enjoyment of a cup of coffee. My thought in submitting my view, was to draw the viewer's eye more so to the face and cup. Just my thought Nikkos. |

Hurray for compositing, this is great. I like the subtleness and bokeh of the background, in harmony with the colors of the hummingbird, while contrasting with the mimosa flower. I agree with Tom that the white portion of the flower distracts. I do not object to the flower not fully being in focus, as I feel it is the pink portion which is your secondary subject (thus adding a degree of sepration). |

Thanks Nikos. Per my reply to Barbara you have highlighted two of my three part lighting strategy here. Yes, capturing an image like this with an aperture of 1.8 would seem foolish. However required by my situation. Traveling across country over 2400 miles we arrived at the beach just at sunset. Unfortunately while grabbing my gear, little did I first realize the tripod release left in the backpack. So I had to place the camera on a skinny fence post. |

Balancing the lighting does improve, Tom. I was focussed upon drawing the viewer's eye first to the remaining sunlight, then backward to the waves and finally the rock in the foreground. |

Thanks Barbara. Yes the mood was lovely. When we flew from Cincinnati to Portland Oregon we knew we would be fighting rush hour traffic and the clock to arrive at Cannon Beach for the sunset. Looking at what reference point is setting itself as the horizon line, a somewhat denser cloud pattern above the water narrows looking left to right. |
