Interesting technique Jan! So much fun to play around with these kinds of things.
My only thought is that she looks a bit "cut out" and then pasted on the page. Either feather her edges or make her a bit chaotic too.. just less than the rest of the image. Not sure but worth a try. |

I think you did a fine job... there are lots of choices. I have tons of textures in folders that I've taken over the years. Concrete, sand, walls... you name it.
I don't think you can go wrong with any texture on this image. Here's one I applied.. |

Henry, I like your spirit of play!
I agree with Brad and like his crop which helps us focus on a subject and keep us in the photo.

Very scary! And great project for you and your sil. I'd say you got exactly what you went out for. I really like the yellow line taking us further into the dark woods. brrrr
I have a small suggestion for you play with and that is overlaying a texture to make it a bit more grungy and scary.

Simple but effective Brad! I like your idea a LOT and think and few simple edits would really made your idea pop. I've made a few changes in my edit below as follows:
1. Changed the direction the person was facing because we read left to right.
2. Changed his location in the flower to make it feel more substantial within the flower.
3. Changed the color cast so that the colors are more harmonious. The Blue seemed to be fighting with the green.
All all suggestions and YMMV... |

Yikes, you definitely accomplished the "dark" here Brad. Considering what we're facing with drought, high temps and possible fires, it really speaks to me.

I really like this and think it's one of my more favorite images you've created.
It works well on all levels except one, it's missing the shadows connecting the lines you added so that it feels a bit unfinished. (unless you meant it to be that way) |

Great composite Tom! I'd love to hear more of the story, if there is one. |

Aavo, Great subject and fun imagination!
I agree with Alan and Brad's comments above. The lighting and sharpness could use more work as it looks a bit cut and paste to me.
One suggestion is to after you cut out your subject in PS, while it's got the marching ants around it, go into Select, Modify, and feather to soften the edges. It'll help to blend the two photos better. |

I really like where you're going with this Peggy!
Since this is somewhat fantasy, I would suggest playing with the coyote's color since it seems to clash with the other colors in the scene. |
