Happens to me all the time! I have to force myself to walk away and come back later and reassess.
Have a good trip! I hope you get some great shots on your travel! |

How fun is this? Great idea and execution Jan!
I have a shot of the mobius arch that I play with every now and then too! It's such a great opportunity to do just what you did... create an imaginary scene.
My two observations are that the tones aren't matching in the rock and the lighting. And the arch looks cut out still. Maybe feather the selection around the arch more to give it a more realistic look?
I did a Q&D (quick and dirty) to show you what I mean. |

Tom, I always love your ideas and execution!
This is such a great composite! The shadow looks super!
My only question is the focus difference between the plane wings and the rest of the image. You have the front and back of the plane in sharp focus and the wings are blurred.
Happy Honeymoon! |

Henry,
I believe Charles would be thrilled that you're working on his technique. He's our speaker this month at my camera club so I'm looking forward to learning more about this technique.
It's a great image and the only thing that seems out of place is the top right. It's a bit lighter than the rest of the image so you could either tone it down or crop as it doesn't seem essential to the story, or.... is it?

I think this is an interesting idea Brad and both originals are great captures. Those clouds are amazing!
For the composite, For me, I would like to see the wave/cloud resized so it blends a bit better. The perspective feels a bit odd to me with the tiny mountains and the big person on the waves. |

This is great Brad!! Bravo! I think you're onto something with these "slightly human" oddities.
I would love to see the top trees recede into the background and the focus stay more sharply on the top of the flowers as if you're taking the photo beneath the object.
Try giving the flowers some more human traits. There's a story waiting to happen! |

Neil, Very subtle handling of this image makes it a successful one. |

Aavo, I agree with what's been said already.
I'd like to add that your butterflies seem to have a white halo around their edges. So I'd suggest that before you use the "feather" technique, you use the same path but select "contract" by 1 or 2 pixels to clean up the unwanted halo color from the original background. |
