Thanks Tom, probably not eligible. I only WISH I was able to catch a carp jumping out of the water, lol! |

Jan,
I love the lighthouse, the scene, the bird and the texture you added.
I, too, wonder about the bird size. Did you make it a little smaller so that it gives more breathing room to the image and then decide that wasn't the effect you wanted?
Do you have a landscape aspect of the lighthouse? It would be interesting to see how the bird fits in a landscape aspect.

Welcome Tom!
Very psychodelic and fun! Reminds me of the concerts in the 70's in San Francisco.
To me, this would be more effective with a bit of cropping. I really like the concept and your composite so I took the liberty of cropping it to show you what I am thinking.
As Brad said, this is a suggestion, not a judgement, just another way of looking at your image.

I kept looking for your face in this tree, lol!
I like it, It's a lovely piece of bark and agree with Brad about lacking a focal point to rest my eye onto.

I really like this Henry! I love your bold colors and primitive effect.
The only thing I wonder about is the black seed pods to the left of the flower. They seem to be getting too much attention from my eyes so maybe toning the contrast on them down a bit? |

Very fun play on the giant theme!
I have my usual suggestion, lol, that it might be more cohesive if the hand texture matched the background.
Other than that, a great theme that you could build a series out of!

Thanks for pointing those edges out to me Brad!! I'm still learning to paint in PS and this one actually was a while ago so I know I didn't do as good a job as I would now.
I'll fix this one up. |

Marilyn, I'm late to the party and can't add anything more to what has already been suggested.
Cute young man and fun image play! |

Thanks Aavo! Two of my three passions have combined. Usually, it's the other way... I use my photography in my quilts so it's fun to have a way to reverse direction. |

Thanks Neil! It never crossed my mind about the swirls evoking Starry Starry Night. But that's because as a quilter, free stitching is a common technique. |

What a nice composite with your Sand Hill Crane flying along the coast!
I agree with Marilyn about cropping out the sky. It doesn't add anything to the photo, in my opinion. The horizon could use a bit of straightening too.
I took your photo, made those suggested adjustments and also did a bit of dodging and burning to highlight the main subject a bit more. Just another way to look at your already nice composite. |

A very balanced photo that tells a definite story. It pulls me in and makes me want to know more of the story. |

What a great concept and execution! This looks very commercial and I wonder if you can sell it to the organization that puts the Fringe together.
I don't know what a "rubber" tool is in Photoshop. Help me out here.

I agree with Marilyn that this is an interesting composition and I, too, like the sepia toning.
I think you could enhance this if you cleaned up not only the white halo around the crane but also around the pier (it's not in the original photo)
The crane doesn't seem to have a shadow or at least it doesn't seem to be in the same direction as the boat shadow that you clearly added or the sun direction. |

Wow Peggy! This is so cool and creative! I love your creativity and your final result.
I like both images for different reasons. The second image actually POPS more and looks very 3D. I could see you making a mask out of it.
The first one is just delicious wildness that pulls me in and keeps me there looking around.
The only thing I wonder about is the background. There's so much going on in the mask part that I wonder if a simpler less textured background would be more pleasing? |
