Lisa, thanks for our own private tut! Hearts to you!
(and BTW, loving your webinars! Thanks for your generosity)
There's really nothing to critique here so the only thing I'll add is that I would love to see a bit of a vignette around it to really keep my eye in the middle. But it's a really nit picky thing... so keep on..

What a great graphic photo Jan! It made me smile when I first saw it!
I have no suggestions because I really like it just the way you present it. |

This is sooo fun!! Hah hah, I'm sure your family loves it!
My only suggestion is to look closely at the light and shadow. It would even be better if the light on the dog matches the light on the body. |

Maryellen,
I, too, love sunflowers and buy them as much as I can this time of year to enjoy while they're alive and then photograph when they dry.
I really like the direction you're going with this concept! I especially like your watercolor background! Beautiful!
I like the way your outside flowers embrace your middle flower.
My only suggestion is that I would love to see the flowers more painterly to match the background. |

Henry, I applaud your bold exploration with composition and beautiful flowers.
My eye seems to roam without a resting place so would encourage you to think about a subject where my eye can land and a place around that subject for my eye to rest occasionally. |

I love this Brad! Nice compositing with bright colors that all work together nicely.
I agree with Lisa about keeping the bud in and like her approach. |

It's getting better Brad! I like Peggy's ideas too.
Here are my thoughts put into another version.
Make the Monkey's the subject and make the background a supporting player.

Thanks for the explanation Alan.
Since I'm new to this group and there was no mention of Surrealism in your description, I had no frame of reference.
Should I assume going forward that every photo you post is in the Surrealistic model?
Thanks, Kathy |

Brad, I always like how you push the envelope! I really like your background and can see how you spend much time thinking about how to use it.
I might suggest that you make a monkey the subject and take the background opacity down. Right now, the monkey's and the background are competing with each other for prime eye estate.
If you choose to do that, make one monkey your subject and make it larger so that it is the main subject. That way you still have your nice background as a supporting element. |

Alan, I like the "mystery" that you've set up here. It's technically lovely so no suggestions for you there.
It evokes questions... why is he looking at her? where is she going? Is she carrying anything? What is their relationship?
I'd love to see a Triptych that tells the story and think you have a nice potential series here. |

Aavo, I like the concept and am right there with you wishing this whole virus thing would be gone!
I love that you are thinking about how to portray something that really has no fixed image other than the graphics we've seen. And I appreciate that you "jury-rigged" a "virus".
To me, the largest "virus" ball, seems too close to her face which creates tension, but maybe that's what you wanted? |
