Oooh, that would be cool to be there during Milky Way time! I'd love to see your night sky photo with this tree!
The mini globes are just for fun. Yes, the shallow dof was on purpose. My thinking was that the focus should be on the "mini-world" begging the question "what is real?".

Good learning tool!
After I feel I'm done with a composite, I always hit shift/control/alt/E and make a "merged layer".
Then I either take it into Topaz or add a background layer to give the entire composition a light unifying texture or "look".
I find it ties all the elements together. |

It's quite a drive from San Francisco. If you're visiting for a week during the bloom, and you have time, then it's worth a visit.
BUT there are so many other beautiful places to see in the surrounding Bay Area, I'd make sure to see the closer places first. |

Thanks Henry!
Table Mountain is right outside Oroville, California. If you Google it, you'll find a Wiki on it. |

Once again, a bold, brilliant work of art! Brava!
I was just in Antigua, Guatelmala in January (before the world shutdown)and have some treasured photos from my visit.
You captured the color of the Mayan city well.
I agree with Brad that the grill on the bus takes too much center stage to my eye and would love to see something more organic in the center. An umbrella or more fabric maybe?

Interesting idea Brad!
I never moved the ball in post, just flipped the photo so didn't really pay attention to the horizon line matching.
Please plan a visit to Table Mountain next April during the "bloom". It's in Orville about 2hrs and 40 from San Francisco.
Stay in the area and then check out Lake Oroville or the Sutter Buttes the next day. |

How interesting! I love Praying Mantis and know nothing about them or their life cycle.
I really like the tones of this and the texture you chose complements the pod.
To my eye, I would like to see the frame less imposing as it pulls it away from the pod because it's so intense. Just a personal opinion as it is beautiful the way you've finished it. |

I absolutely love this Jan!! Everything you did really took thought and creativity.
Well done! This would make a great Mother's Day Card. |

How cute and colorful Lisa!!
I love your creativity with the colors, stroke and bringing it out of the frame.
The only thing I might suggest is that you might want to add a shadow behind the beak as it comes out of the frame. It will add a bit of dimension to your art and make it pop off the page. |

Nice playing around Henry! This is how I learn too!
I'm fine with the intense colors but to me, the birds blending into the photo need some work. They do look pasted there and it's partly because of the the mismatched light and sharpness of the birds compared to the rest of the photo... maybe? not sure.

What a cutie pie!
Aren't the filters amazing and fun!! Have a blast with them Brad!
I get the vitality and intensity here for sure.
I don't have any critique cuz this is your creative effort on behalf of your daughter.

Peggy, If you look at my reply to Alan, I went back and looked at my PSD file for this. Hopefully, my explanation will help you understand what I did. |

Alan, Your group 54 is definitely fast in viewing and replying! What a nice thing!
Thanks for your thoughtfulness in sharing the steps of inbedding the background. I looked back at my PSD file and I layered a background (photo of a rock with Lichen) over the model with a "lighten" blend mode. That enable the background to be seen ONLY in the models body.I then added the tree background in "difference" blend mode which amped up the colors. All together, 16 layers. I know some will groan but I love this work! |

Brad,
I really like this image! I think it's super that you're playing with all the filters in Topaz.
Rather than change anything, I just wonder how the children would look in B&W. There's two different things about them, the color and the lack of the "wavy" texture. So to tie them together a bit more, maybe keep them texture free but B&W.
Not a big deal, just a thought as this composite is striking already. |

Alan,
An otherworldly, interesting composite.
Since I find art like this so personal, I wonder what kind of feedback I can give you.
When I see your composites, what would you like me to comment on?
Thanks! |

Betty,
Love the Fog theme you used to make the riders a bit ghostly.
I agree with the others on their suggestions and have nothing else to offer to a fun photo concept. |

Aavo, Such an interesting concept and a good use of inanimate objects. The placement is very interesting.
I wonder about the "fringing" on the trees. Was that intentional? If so, great, it adds to the unreality of the scene.

This is an amazing work of art Peggy! I really like all the choices you made from the composition to the color palette, the subtle texture and the choice of composite photos. The addition of the sand to ground the "flower" is perfect.
I always like to hear about peoples inspiration for their work.

Thank you Peggy!
I'll go back and try to figure out what I did. I seem to "get in the moment" when I work and never pay attention to my steps... I need to start taking notes.
I love this model so you'll see a few more of her in different composites before I'm done with her.
When I play with this again, I'll try everyones suggestions and see what "sticks".. Thanks!

Thank you Aavo!
I'll play around with dark colors in this one and see how it turns out.
It seems I've been working in pastels lately, no matter the subject. Just a comforting color palette to me right now.
