Thanks for your thoughts Jan! It may be that as Brad said, to keep the original and forget the composite ideas. It was fun to try an idea out that just doesn't seem to work. I'll keep in mind all the suggestions so when it calls to me again, I have some different ideas.

Thanks for sharing your perspective Brad!
My feeling comes from a term called "uncanny valley" which doesn't EXACTLY fit here but is a similar concept in that something doesn't fit but the viewer doesn't know what that something is...
Which photo are you adding "punch" to? |

Thanks Brad! I worked on this and made some changes based on your recommendations. I changed the size of Peter and friends and didn't like the perspective change so I just changed the opacity. I made the boat clearer with a bit more fog. I'll keep looking at it with an eye to improving. |

Maryellen, really great idea and execution!
Love this!
I agree that it doesn't need the birds at all... the cat is spectacular.
Not sure about the sky... you might want to try some different color casts to see if one blends the photo better. |

Whimsical!
I agree with what's been said already. This is a work in progress and can really shine with a bit more blending and refinements. |

Beautiful photos to make the composite.
Some thoughts for you:
Besides straightening the horizon, I wonder about the perspective between the figure and the rock. It's seems off somehow. Did you take the pictures from the same height?
Also, the light across the original standing man photo doesn't reflect on the rock or the water like it does in the original. I think if this were "real", (if that's what you're trying to show} the light on the rock would be different.
