Great ideas Jan! Thanks for showing me your perspective!
And yes, you did see my Yosemite photo hanging in the Lincoln show. I haven't gotten down there yet but plan to be there for the artist reception.
Congratulations to you for getting into that show too!! Woot!
I've seen your name locally but never connected it to this group. How nice to see your work! |

Glad that seeing it is helpful!
I think this crop helps with the leading lines as well. The waves lead your eye into the image, rest on the rock, head back to the bottom of the "V" and then up to the star trails. |

Hmm, I think the only thing that helps me is to crop out the large dark area.
I took your photo into PS and just did a closer crop... What do you think? |

Lisa,
I agree with all the comments and really, there's nothing more to say.
Good work! |

Jan,
Again, another super concept. I agree with the above statements.
No moon and I really like the simple shot that Sue took of just the boat, bear and owl. It's much more impactful that way and a good reminder as I pack too much into my composites too, hah hah! |

Welcome Maryellen!!
You clearly have the creative soul of an artist.
Your egret is beautiful and I love the flower element.
I agree with Henry that it would be interesting and helpful to read your thoughts about your artwork so we understand what your vision was when you made this.

I like your concept and execution in this nice photo Henry!
For me, I'd love to see a bit more texture brought back to the red area so we see that it's a plant.
Then, it might benefit from a bit of color change in the water vs the plants just to give our eyes a bit of path to follow with color. Maybe a slight teal?
Very nice! |

Late weighing in here.
I like what everyone has offered. I agree with Lisa about the left side being dark and because of it, causes the eye to rest there often.
I think you have two subjects here and that might be something to think about.
One subject is the sky and the other is the water. They both seem to have equal weight so which one do you want to be dominant? |

thanks for the comments all! yes, she's a tad dark and could stand some lightning.
I like Henry's idea of extending her tail!
I know some of the elements are hard to see .. I think I do it that way to add an element of discovery. I like to make the viewer look a little further. A bad habit of mine, lol! |
