I like the shoe photo very much and agree with Brad that this seems to be the first step for you in creating your vision.
In my mind, the elements don't match and the background distracts my eye.
Is there another background, perhaps outside on dirt?
I like Brad's suggestion to look at Group 54. Compositing is a fascinating art.

I agree with Brad on all his points and since you said that this is a work in progress, I know you have all the elements to make this really amazing.
I'd love to see this less busy with more focus on the elements you find important to show.
The water is stunning! I find the brightest areas are the ferns which could be less hot because they're less important.		 Apr 11th

I love the re-creation of the original!

I agree with Brad that the leash is too tight for the final and would think it less tense if the leash was relaxed as in the original.		 Apr 11th

I especially like the yellow frame.

Yes, it's her dog. I actually don't know if she has this on her wall. They live on the other coast from us.
