I agree that this composition successfully pulls my eye into the photo.
In my opinion, because it's black and white, I feel there is too much going on for me to focus on the singer. I wouldn't have even known she was a singer without the help of the title and enlarging the photo to see what she is holding.
I'd be interested in seeing the color version. |

Love old trucks with character!
I like both treatments. I like the color version because of the unusual color gradients on the truck. The contrast really holds my attention.
I like the b&w version because it enhances the details and allows me to look farther than just enjoying the color gradient. |

Nice photo of the old boat on the beach!
I like the leading lines to the boat and the shot is nice and crisp.
Have you tried this in mono?
I played a little with your photo to come up with a mono version. Thanks! |

Definitely past it's prime!
Nice natural colors and a good angle to show all parts of the flower.
I would like to see a bigger crop so that the edge of the green points is not cut off. |

Beautiful old tractor with nice bright colors to reflect fall.
How nice that you have a bit of fall color already.
We still are in the midst of a heat wave in California! |

Being a latecomer to the comments, I ended up confused as to what is the original.
What kind of feedback are you looking for on which photo, David? |

I'm joining the crowd, Paul. 😉
Nice composition!
This photo just begs for some more enhancement and I like what Chuck did to bring out the clouds. |

That class looked amazing but Not in my budget right now. I'd be very nterested to see your work based on this class Nancy!
I'm glad this gave you a little boost of inspiration! |

Hello Cheryl, welcome to the group!
I was traveling last month when you joined so didn't have a chance to welcome you until now.
It's fun to return to a beloved picture and try different treatments. This is a great subject and composition.
I agree with both Cyril's and Nancy's comments and suggestions.
Were you trying to get a "Monet" type feel to this? His color palette was a bit more on the blue side.
I think a bit more structure and definition could make this really "pop" depending on what you're trying to convey. |
