Beautiful!
Love the darkened background and the clarity of the tulip.
We have a big tulip festival here that I'm waiting to visit but the weather hasn't been cooperative yet.
Your picture makes me excited about taking photos at the gardens. |

Before I read your comments, I looked at the photo and thought, "holy cow, that looks like a sand painting" thinking it was a manipulated photo of trees, lol!
Great job! |

Thanks for all the feedback and I'm glad you all had fun playing with the photo!
I always like to see other's "vision" of the possibilities.

Technically a very nice picture Chuck.
The sky could use some stars or clouds since the roof is pointing up there.
Based on that, I think I would have liked to see a full door to invite the viewer into the picture or to crop the door out. |

Cindy:
Technically, you are always right in the zone! Perfect!
What are you trying to achieve with your still life?
Is there a mood or style that you like?
Not knowing, here are my thoughts. I think if you want a different perspective, perhaps playing with the textures and a bit of toning to make this a more artful image. It's already a great record of the setting... is that what you want? |

I like both the images Karl, and applaud you for getting these so close and sharp! I agree about taking down the bright spot near the skaters face.
Since I liked both, I thought I'd play a bit to give you an idea for the future... all personal taste of course.

Nice photo Jeffrey! I like the color and textured you applied. I also like that the bricks almost look wet.
I agree about lightening the clock. It's an interesting feature that attracts my eye.

Beautiful subject and photo, David, that offers a number of ways to play.
The contrast level is a matter of taste and this feels a bit overdone for my taste.
I wonder what this would have looked like if you had used a telephoto to compress the foreground and the mountains in the back?
I wonder what this would have looked like if you had an ND filter to smooth out the water and thicken the mist.
Lots of questions and fun.

I love glacier photos and you did a nice job with this one.
I prefer them in color because it allows for more depth and interest.
I agree with David and Jeffrey's suggestions. There are many ways to work this photo depending on what software program you prefer.
Too much contrast boost makes the photo look over "HDR'd" however. And I like the delicate "hand" you used, Paul.

I agree with everything Cyril wrote. Truly painterly! |

Great ideas!
It has a Van Gogh look on the top and a bit of Hobbiten on the bottom, lol!
My only suggestion might be to match perspective a bit on the sitting people. They look huge next to the houses and it threw me off a bit.
Otherwise, fun painting! |

Wow Cyril, Love the original. I had to look at it a few times because I was blown away by the color!
Lovely painting!
I think you are very faithful to the original in your painting. I wonder if there was some way to bring the moon out more in your painting? I miss that from the original.
