Thanks for your comments. I agree with you. The only reason I kept the left side of the image that the moon was over South Buffalo and Lackawanna. The downtown Buffalo is on the left.
Color: in the early phase of the moon rise, the moon is read (penumbra). When the moon gets higher it turns bright White and much smaller due to absence of comparison point. To take a picture of the moon itself (close-up!) is not that difficult at that point, but the moon becomes so bright that it is difficult to see the city without burning the whites on the moon.
I tried HDR with huge differences in EV (7-10 manual mode) but to limit the blur from the Earth movement the ISO become very high - noisy image). |

Very nice location. The helicopter gives us a good idea on the size of this canyon bend.
I find the red foreground very distracting. There is also a fair amount of haze.
I took the liberty of cropping this image a little bit, increasing the contrast and saturation, as well as decreasing the haze. It would be better to work on the original, but this is what I came out with - Just a suggestion. |

This is a HUGE tunnel! Keeping visitors on the scene is very helpful in these situations, especially when there are no other reference points.
I believe that decreasing the highlights and shadows would be helpful also.
Very impressive site. Nice image.
Oh well... another spot to put on my bucket list! |

Very nice way to enhance the three dimensions.
I believe that you increased the sharpness of the big rock seen through the arch - looks a little unnatural. As mentioned, your f stop was very low.
How to remedy: 1) higher f stop or 2) focus stacking - One image focussed on the background rock and one image focussed on the arch. (I find focus staking to be very helpful in these situations - needs to be on a tripod)
I believe that you used a polarizer.
Very nice. |

Hi Frans,
Fantastic work in deleting all the tourists on the right of the image, enhancing the kayakers. Further enhancing is produced by keeping the kayakers in color and the rest of the image in monochrome.
I found that B/W can be helpful in creating a mysterious feel in the fog. I found the background a little bit faded - maybe increasing the contrast in the background would be helpful.
Nice demonstration. |

Very nice image. Good perspectives. The reflections of the buildings and clouds are really nice. Except for the reflections, everything tacks sharp.
A keeper. Good work. |
