69 Sep 23 Comment Wow... these are very "social" birds! Nice capture. This image tells a story. A square crop works very well here.
Nice submission.

69 Sep 23 Comment I forgot to include the color version. Due to the fog, the colors were quite muted! Sep 8th
69 Sep 23 Comment I forgot to mention: I was in a canoe...

69 Sep 23 Comment An acrobatic Pileated Woodpecker (female). For me, the presence of the bird feeder and suet, tells a story. I agree with the light issue. I took the liberty of adding a ND filter obliquely on your image aiming at increasing the brightness in the upper left corner. Not perfect, but just an idea... Sep 8th
69 Sep 23 Comment Nice lineup of elephants. I agree that having the elephants coming toward the photographer would be preferable, but this image is never the less telling a story.
I am not concerned about the merging elephants, especially since several of them are completely isolated. This, on its own, is also telling a story. They normally cross rivers very close together!
Nice capture.

69 Sep 23 Comment Nice submission. It is not easy to get a bee in fight and the targeted flower at the same time and in focus, especially with an iPhone!
Options on cropping: A single image can have several pleasing cropping. I like that the whole flower is seen and that the bee is not too tightly cropped on the top/right.
Alternatively, one can opt for a much tighter crop and sacrifice part of the flower. All a question of taste....

70 Sep 23 Reply Thanks Frans. A new image manipulation to keep in mind! Sep 20th
70 Sep 23 Reply I totally agree with you Stefaan. Sep 8th
70 Sep 23 Comment Nice submission.
I am surprised that you were able to capture the sun without burning pixels! I am suspicious that the forest fires from Canada (Quebec) were to be blamed here!
Normally, in a situation like this, the capture of the sun would be either -4 or -5 EV in comparison with the rest of the image (at 0 EV).
I like the guiding lines provided by this peer, as well as the inclusion of the visitors, giving an idea of the size of these sky scrapers.
Nice!

70 Sep 23 Comment Nice submission. I like it as it is, but I agree with Geoff that cropping some of the bottom would also work well.

I find it hard to capture rainbows the way we see them. To my eye, they always look faded and desaturated in images. Any processing suggestions?

70 Sep 23 Comment Nice image - certainly tells a story. I can't imagine the amount of work needed to build bridges like this one every year.
Nice cropping and use of the "rule of 1/3 rds". The perfect time of the day - orange hour - certainly adds to the appeal.
I would have liked a more interesting sky! Maybe I am a purist, but I was wondering if anyone in this group tried sky-swapping?

70 Sep 23 Comment Fantastic submission, especially when captured from a boat. The 3 big rock formations on the right are sharp and out of the fog, helping to create a nice depth to your image. Nice directing lines and colors.
Great job in keeping the color palette.
I find it hard with the fog to work in color. I wanted to see what I could do with a monochrome conversion.
I was in Maine last month, on a canoe in the fog, when I took a picture of a bull moose. I converted to B/W to increase the mystery! (my submission on PSA DD 69 for the month of September 2023)

70 Sep 23 Comment Lovely work in creating this image. I can understand why Mendelssohn and other great musicians were inspired by this Swiss town!
Thank you for including the original. Can you describe the technique you used in this particular image?

70 Sep 23 Comment Kirk,
Great image. All in sharp focus - good directing lines and perspectives - good cropping - lovely sky (especially for New Mexico!) - nice space on the right side of your image.
A keeper!
