Hi Jacob.
All very sharp by being parallel to the bee and the flower. I agree with Dean's comment. For an image like this, I could take 20 shots with different angles and select only the best one. Seeing the bee from above would have been nice, especially if one could get details on the head and proboscis.
As mentioned before, I am very impressed by the quick and steady improvement of your submissions.

Very nice Screech Owl - lots of details, perfectly sharp and wide-open eyes.
I prefer Isaac's cropping (following the 1/3rds "rule").
Excellent. |

Very nice, calming/energizing image. From what I can see on my screen, it does not look as if you "burned" pixels with the sun - maybe because of the cloud and some water evaporation right in front of it.
I personally love your crop.
Lovely. |

Excellent image of a male Purple Honeycreeper. All perfectly sharp. Nice pose showing the slender curved beak and texture of the wings.
Another keeper!

To all:
I use the app: "Clear Outside" to try to predict where (location and altitude) and how dense the clouds are going to be at a specific time. Although I find it helpful, I end up frequently disappointed with the actual cloud dispersion colors.
Any suggestion on the "perfect" ratio between low - medium altitude and high altitude clouds? Any apps that might lead to a better prediction? |

In trying to avoid this tight right side, I came up with this minimalist cropping. Just another way to look at it. |

Hi Kirk,
Personally, I would have preferred more sky (1/3-2/3). From what I can perceive, you were pointing your camera a little low.
Without a wider angle lens on you, an option is to turn the camera vertically and perform a pano. Just something to keep in mind.
In respect to cropping, I will sometimes get several images from an initial capture…. Changing the area I want to focus on. |

Nice. Excellent sense of perspective with rich foreground, background, and middle ground. Very strong lines from the bottom left to the top right.
Not always easy to determine what to keep and what to crop while facing such a huge landscape (either in camera or in post-processing).
Quite dramatic. Another keeper! |

Wow! Great submission. This is a nice complement to Kirk's image of last month.
Lovely as it is. No suggestion. |

Very interesting image. All sharp, great contrast without harsh shadows. I would have liked a little more breathing room on the right side, but I do not know what else you had there! This is quite a unique landscape!
Congrats!

Simply lovely. Nice contrast between the pastel sky colors and the rough and detailed rocky cliff. The "smooth" water adds to the atmosphere.
A keeper. |

Hi Tami. Lovely image of the tip of Denali. As you are probably aware, at best one can see the tip of Denali only 1/10 times due to the cloud coverage!
The plane wing is a bit distracting but you were probably quite limited on your camera angle. It adds to the story. Some pilots will do a second or third pass with different plane angles to allow more captures.
Nice work.

Thanks for these comments. This images was captured way passed the sunset - evening twilight. During the sunset, the Colors are more «Â orange » and the direct sun will most likely cause «Â burned » pixels unless the sun is masked by clouds, a sail or other obstacle in the foreground. |
