Hi Jacob. I agree with the other comments. I would add that having the beak out of the water with water droplets dripping back down would have been a plus.
In general, off-centering the animal so there is more space in the direction the animal is aiming is more pleasing. |

Hi Dean,
I just saw your post. Lovely corner of the world and great capture.
Katherine Cove? Did you stop by the wonderful spot of Pebble Beach?
My preference is the color version but you did a nice conversion.
Question for all: I am always bothered by the multiple contrails in an otherwise fantastic sky. My tendency is to remove all of them. Any comments? |

Spelling wise: Swans are called Cygnes in French! - makes it much easier to remember. |

When I have a «Â perfect » mirror in the water, my tendency is to bring the horizon pretty much in the middle. |

Nice capture and story. Trumpeter vs Tundra Swans? - I believe that these are Trumpeter Swans. Much easier to tell when they are side by side and when the Tundra has a yellow spot on the beak close to the eyes (unfortunately, 10% of Tundra Swans do not have this yellow marking).
I agree with Isaac's cropping.
Nicely done. |

Nice action - Nice story. Sharp - not competing background.
Some could criticize the movement blur on the chick's wing, but for me, it emphasizes how quickly he wanted lunch.
Great image. |

Hi Kirk,
Thank you for submitting your image despite your present situation. Hopefully, all will be back to "normal" soon.
Lovely image and composition. I agree with Frans that it looks a little too saturated, but this is a question of artistic taste.
This image could certainly be used in a travel article, magazine, pamphlet, or book.
Great work. |

Hi Frans,
Fantastic image, but please be careful on the edges of a cliff! (The edges could be soft with some recess under the edges...)
I agree with all the above comments. Lovely colors and composition. Great submission. |

I totally agree with all the previous comments. This is a "WOW" image - probably one of your best submissions to date.
Very artistic. Great set-up selection and post-processing.

Hi Geoff. Another fantastic areal image for an area of the world I would love to explore.
I agree with the previous comments regarding color saturation, and I believe that Frans version is to the point.

Hi Terina. Very artistic image. I prefer the pastel color version. I really like the color modifications that you made to the original - It would be great to see your capture before these color changes.
I agree with the ladder removal (either by cropping or by erasing).
Great capture. |
