Nice. Always difficult to isolate an animal through bushes as these foreground structures are affecting the sharpness of the animal where there is superposition.
I agree with Dean re: lightning the left side of the face. Maybe trying to increase the sharpness on the fingers could also help.
Very cute! |

Hi Brenda, I would not have liked to be in a Kayak close to this animal!
Nice post-processing.
Another title would be: "Time to floss" |

Hi Jacob,
I totally agree with Dean. Keep some space around the bird. If by accident, a portion of the bird is "clipped" off, then crop on a specific portion of the bird, such as the looped neck, etc. (as if you did it on purpose!)
Just an example: |

Wow. Nice one. I agree with Brenda - probably one of the best ones of yours.
I can hear the beginning of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" (Richard Strauss) in the background!
Another spot to explore!
No suggestion to offer.

Fantastic shot. The only suggestion would be to reduce a tad the shadows.

I decided to reprocess the image and adjusted the tones.

The main reason I under expose is that the sun was reflecting on the background leaves causing overexposure right behind the deer. This is maybe why the tone is a little off. I will try to modify my post-processing. |

Hi Kirk,
You captured a very lovely scenery. Good sense of depth with foreground, midground, and background. High f stop to burst the sun.
Your image looks a little tilted left bottom - not always easy to find the true horizon in your image. I decided to try adjusting the horizon using the sediment lines on the left and right sides of your image.
Very nice! |

Hi Frans,
I agree with you and Kate: Good idea to desaturate the boat - It would have stood out like a sore thumb! You needed the space in front of the trunk - cropping the boat out would have been too tight (unless you cropping essentially half of the image on the right!)
I love the details on this Elephant.
I believe that your image is slightly slented (when drawing vertical lines from the right edge of the trunk to its mirror reflection. I took the liberty to offer a variation on your image although I prefer your crop.

Hi Kathryn,
You make me relive the sceneries from the Steptoe Butte State Park, going up the only big hill around. I had the pleasure of visiting this area before the PSA meeting in Spokane in September a few years ago (2019?). This vast scenery was completely different due to the time of the year (end of the harvest season). I took so many images.... landscapes and more detailed areas and at different times of the day (sunrise, sunset, etc...). The skies can be quite dramatic over there!
Your image is lovely. I might have cropped just a little bit of the upper portion of the image but I think that I am being picky! I would have loved to see the same scenery during the sunset/sunrise (depending on the direction you were aiming at). |

Hi Geoff,
This areal image is so reveling. Looks abstract. I wonder if you could zoom in on an area, such as the upper right corner. I believe this would help to better understand the details of this landscape.
Everything looks so dry. As Kate said, you are giving me another reason to explore your continent!
Very nice image. |

Very moody image. Nice processing. I would personally crop away the upper third or so of the sky to bring the horizon line to the upper/middle third of the image as the upper portion of the sky is not adding much to the beauty and feel of the scene.
Nice work. |

Hi Kate. It looks like this was a lovely day!
Your image gives a sense of movement from the water, but the depth of the scene could be enhanced. I believe that your image would be stronger if you included some of the beach + some landmarks from the front to the back of the scene to give a better idea of perspective (for example a rock, shell, or a person on or close to the shore and a boat further in, etc...). Maybe a slight "dehaze" and increase of contrast would also make it "pop" a little more. |
