Hi Jacob,
I find that the flower pops up much better in the color image (orange and yellow against green foliage and blue sky).
Black/White conversion can be tricky.
It would be interesting to know more about how you took the image (iPhone, camera, settings if possible) and what program you are using to do your conversion. Several programs will allow you during your conversion to play with your various color channels. Here it should be fairly easy due to all the contrasting colors. |

Fantastic action/ behavior image. Amazingly sharp, especially considering the distance between the birds. The slight motion blur on the wingtips is fine with me (even at 1/1600!). Very nice. A keeper for sure! |

Lovely bird and action. Nesting time for the Gannets. Nice and sharp throughout. Nice directing lines.
I personally find the background a little dark. I took the liberty to decrease the mid-tones and shadows with a slight decrease in exposure (very minor details)....
Great shot. |

Nice image. The RF 100-500 with a doubler can really give a sharp image. I was hesitant at getting the doubler as I am happy with the 1.4X Did you use the automatic bird/eye detection mode?
As usual, this Male Osprey will get his share before bringing the leftover to his spouse and children! He will most likely take the head off first and then will fly to the nest.
Nice cropping, details, story, directing lines. Looks like perfect weather. I am jealous as there is still plenty of snow here! |

I like both images. The vertical is more dramatic due to the light above the clouds but I prefer horizontal panoramas.
I am not a fan of all these electric posts, wires, telephone towers, etc..... Not always easy to erase! |

I agree with the above comments. Would have been nice to have the Canada Goose entering the frame instead of exciting ... but these birds rarely cooperate!
