Thanks Brenda. Good idea about the darkening.
You will love the R5!
P.S.: I believe that the only reason for these two birds to be perched so close together is that there was a bird feeder nearby.....

Hi Dean,
With flowers, I always struggle in finding what would be the "best" cropping!
Here is my version with a much tighter crop (as I found that the bottom flower was not in good focus), I increased the contrast, decreased the highlights, increased the vibrance and saturation (a little), decreased the shadows and blacks. I also used the brush tool to decrease the sharpness, highlights, sharpness and contrast in the background on the right side. I also followed the suggestion of Mervyn.
Pierre
p.s.: I believe that better results could be accomplished with the original image as the definition was affected by this significant cropping.
Please let me know if you approve. |

Hi Jacob,
I just did some quick basic adjustments, slightly increased the clarity and vibrance as well as a slight cropping on the right side (on Lightroom).
I found that the bottom and the areas of shadow of your image were very dark. I am sure that more can be done but I believe that this is a good start.
Nice composition. |

Wow..... you keep your bumper quite clean! I also enjoy watching the behaviour of animals. I had a similar experience with Northern Cardinals that were attracted by a freshly washed bright red car.
Nice work. Love the birds reactions caught in action! |

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for this comment. I tried different crops before selecting this one as I wanted to give some room to follow the head directions and sights of the 2 birds (originally was much wider than tall). |

Wonderful! This is a storytelling image. The bird adjacent to the mirror as well as its reflection are very crisp. A narcissistic bird!
There is a blur on the bird on the right most likely due to a moving leaf between the camera and the bird. I think that I would like to crop it out and focus on the main scene.
Really nice image. |

Great image illustrating nicely the color grading and irridescence of this lovely bird. Nice cropping. Good focus on the bird's head but the tail, despite f/8, is a little soft. A little bit of sharpening on the tail might be helpful.
Very nice. |

As usual.... nice artistic touch. Nice details and composition of this rather noisy bird (especially in flight!). I would not change anything. Great image. |

Very nice scene of Mother/Child in the savannah. There is a slight blur on the childs' tail tip and crest suggesting that this youngster was moving a little faster than its mom. I like the sense of location provided. Good cropping.
Great! |

Very easy spot to go. Right off the Emerald State Park Parking lot. A very short walk to:

I totally agree with you. The B/W version is much more appealing. |

Hi San. What a nice capture. I know exactly at what spot you were standing. I did not think about climbing there in the dark.... but next time, I will wake up an extra 30 min earlier to try it!

Nice and moody. I like the framing of this scene.
Although I really like this conversion offering a very nice gradation of light intensity, I would be interested to see the original "colored" one.

Very nice final image. Everything is very crisp. I am not familiar with this technique but certainly like the result.
Could you comment on the advantages of this technique? |

Very nice use of IR and color adjustments. I would have like to see more of the image on the bottom which is a little dark on my screen.

Nice mirror image on this lake and good colors. I would have like to see more of the upper portion of the scene so we could see the full forest reflection. Unfortunately, the light intensity of the sun would be more of an issue. The use of a neutral density filter (obliquely placed) or bracketing on the image would have likely help preventing this issue.
Was the original image less cropped from the top? |

Very nice color gradation from left to right as well as from bottom to top. Nice framing of the cloud formation even if the sun end up almost in the center of the image. Dreamy feeling.
Very nice image. No suggestion except, maybe, slight increase in contrast or saturation but this would probably affect this dreamy feel. |
