So many choices..... One of the advice I had was to chose a system (several good camera systems, DSLR, Mirrorless, Full Frame, Cropped sensors, etc...) and invest in good lenses rather than a super duper camera body. The electronics are improving rapidly but good lenses will remain good lenses (Invest in "good glass" ...). You can also rent equipment before buying and get a better sense of the pros and cons of various systems.
Once you select a camera you like and a good lens, get a book dedicated to that specific camera and learn everything you can. Practice, practice, practice.... Good luck.

Nice capture - very sharp and with fine details despite the very dark color. Well done!
In Florida the nick name for the Anhinga is the "stake bird". They swim underwater like water stakes, using their tail as a rudder. |

Hi Brenda,
Although I like to experiment with B/W, I am more attracted to this bright flower. Here is a "radical" rotation and cropped version (color) but it can also work in B/W. |

Nicely done. You are improving your images capture, cropping and processing every months. Congratulation.
I do not use my cell phone frequently to take pictures and I have to admit that I am not sure how you could modify your f stop, ISO and shutter speed with this device.
I am quite impress with the images you get with this iPhone.
You would greatly improve your creative potential with a camera that allows you to modify these parameters. |

Now I get it! I was wondering why you were flipping your images so frequently!

You have an eye for crime scenes! Maybe you can look into becoming a forensic enthomologist!
Quite the catch! Very nicely done, especially your "improved" version. |

Wow. Very nice post-processing work. The connection between child and mother is much stronger this way.

Hi Brenda,
This flower was far away and unfortunately, I could not get more of its steam. My crop was done at that level to make it cleaner.
Thanks

Hi Dean,
I still have 2 full frame Canon cameras and a lot of lens for this format. I converted one of the two by having all the filters removed (Astro conversion). The quality of the pictures in low light situation is significantly better with the Canon full frame than the micro 4/3 system. I still prefer the micro 4/3, especially for super telephoto because of the portability (I sold my Canon 600 mm f4 (first generation) a while ago now - this was a 12 lbs lens!)
