69 Jun 20 Reply I use LightRoom. As mentioned before, if you save your pictures in RAW format (probably not possible with your phone) you will gain significantly more latitude on what you can achieve in respect to touch ups on your photo editing program. Jun 23rd
69 Jun 20 Comment Great. Jun 20th
69 Jun 20 Comment Wow. Nice shot. Squished between the flat clouds and the water one could feel trapped and then "Boom" 2 multi branched lightning bolts! Jun 19th
69 Jun 20 Comment Hi Brenda. I love it. My only problem was the slightly tilted horizon. I used the level tool in LightRoom and simply draw a line at the junction between the water and the far away bushes. I really like your B/W conversion. Here we go. Jun 19th
69 Jun 20 Comment Hi Jacob,
Nice work. I might be more of a purist but I prefer the natural colors. I started by straightening the image and cropping a bit. Using the brush tool, I darkened the area lateral and posteriorly to the flower, I then used the blush took and slightly increased the exposure, clarity and sharpness of the flower itself. After that, I added a dark vignette.

69 Jun 20 Comment Hi Candy,
I love your image and really like what you did with the sky. I am just wondering about the horizontal flip. Maybe I am too much of a purist, but the original is the way that I am used to see these rocks. I do not have any problem in flipping horizontaly animals in nature, maybe just because the animal itself can do it a few minutes later.

69 Jun 20 Reply I agree. I really like the Blue Heron but not the busy environment. Even at f/9 1,200 mm the separation with the background was not as good as expected (at that focal length, one would expect a fairly shallow depth of field).
I will try to work on it.....

69 Jun 20 Reply I agree with you Dean. See my response to Brenda. Any technical tips? Jun 7th
69 Jun 20 Reply Thanks Brenda. I have a few images of this landing but this was the one with the stretch legs and the wind catching the feathers. Unfortunately, I agree with the very busy background. I tried to decrease the clarity and the sharpness of the background with the dodging tool but found it hard to slide between the feathers without making it looking artificial. Any tips? Jun 7th
69 Jun 20 Comment Really nice. I did not try to photograph lightning yet and did not know about that Bug. Thanks for the info.
Personally I like the tree. It adds to the intrigue as one would have expect the lightning to hit the water but instead vanish behind the tree.
Nice work.

69 Jun 20 Comment Nice catch! I really like this image. The colors are lively and all look pretty sharp to me. As mentioned by Brenda, pretty cool to see through the locust wing and the catch light in his left eye. Well done! Jun 7th

70 Jun 20 Reply Thanks Todd. I certainly do not mind tweaks and personal preference from anyone. I believe that we are all part of this group exactly for this. Everyone bring it's own preferences and I believe that we all learn from it. Jun 24th
70 Jun 20 Comment Very nice treatment of the initial pict + nice suggestions from Richard. I love the contrasty colors from the mountainous background. Jun 19th
70 Jun 20 Comment Hi Judy,
Initially, I was wondering.... but then you added your real version. Very nice light swirls and overall composition. Nice work.

70 Jun 20 Comment Nice. This elegantly demonstrated that the opportunities are smiling to those who can anticipate them, and readdy to capture the magic moment.
Beautiful work.

70 Jun 20 Comment Simply stunning. I like your treatment of the image. Beautiful composition. Jun 19th
70 Jun 20 Comment Thanks for all your constructive comments and touch-ups. Jun 19th
70 Jun 20 Comment I can just imagine Don Quixote on his horse riding through the fields....
Nice.... really nice!
