Yes, these trees are still producing great olives for several centuries..... |

Great capture. Very sharp on the bird and nice muted and darker background.
The only thing that bugs me is what appears to be a sensor dust (bright) just behind the back of the head.
I know that you like the head pointing to the left as you frequently flip your images. Can I ask you your reason? I personally like it either way. |

Very nice looking couple! Looks to me that the focus was on the eye of the drake and that you sharpened the eye of the female.
The colors are so vivid - great early morning light!
Outstanding pict. |

Not easy to get a good shot in these situations. Even though you were taking a picture of immobile trees, you were moving due to the currents. Still, great job at 1/500. Would have been nice to have a greater depth of field but you decision not to increase your ISO higher was probably wise (I would consider 1/500 as the slowest shutter speed in these circumstances.)
Nicely done despite the difficulties.

Wow... I agree with Brenda. Great view. Very bright and deep colors (orange tones). Is this the way they are or did you oversaturated them a bit?
I would also suggest increasing the f/stop to get more depth of field.
Great job from an airplane.
My only experience with aerial photography was onboard a 4 seater Fokker airplane. My problem was to deal with the curved/tinted windows. Any similar issues with yours? |

Thanks. I found these trees to be so neet - multiple centuries old and still quite alive! |

Nicely done! I like your corrected white balance version. Nice details throughout. Your original looked very "blue". Do you remember your white balance setup on the camera? |

Great image - very good way to start a discussion!
I like to use the 500 rule (or 600) to avoid "comma" effects on the stars caused by the earth rotation. (500/focal length = maximum seconds of exposure). The 25 sec exposure was right on. By stacking multiple shots, I believe that you created commas. Unfortunately, you could not change the background light pollution but nicely handled it.
I love your very nice foreground with the focus stacking technique. This is a much better technique than using a high f/stop and automatically increasing the noise.
Really nice. Looking foreward to see more.

Serene - relaxing - just beautiful.
The exposure bracketing allowed you to tone down the sun and gave more details in the foreground. I like the seagull footprints and no obvious human trace. I can hear the New World Symphony (first mvt) from Dvorak in the background!
Very nicely done. |

Crater Lake, Oregon I presume (there is also one in Colorado).
Really nice mood. Sharp in the foreground and the clouds movements washed out by the long exposure adds mistery to the scene. Nicely done. |

Very nice Easter mood. Nice angle due to the wind. I like the Original 2 but unfortunately there is a superposition on the left side with the other flower and the tip of the petal was cut off.
Did you find any eggs!

Hi Glen,
Although I did not have a tripod, I mounted my camera on a Platypod (flat metal plate with a ball head and straps). I mounted this Platypod on a metal fence. The plate can slide easily with the computer and the ball head in the camera bag with lenses.
I would be interested to get the group opinions on white balance. This is a subject that intrigue me, especially at night. In this scene there was multiple types of lights casting various colors on different areas. I played with the white balance but felt that what I chose was fairly close to what I saw. I like your version also (maybe a little bit too green). Any guidance? |

Looks like a Male Ruby Throated Hummingbird catching one of the golden hours.
Please give us some details on your equipment and setup. Would have been nice to see the tip of the beak. |

Very nice capture. Perfect focus - incredible details.
How high was that Owl from the ground? Amazing that you could catch it at eye level. |
