Very interesting. When I looked at your original, I could see light in the building on the top of the cliff. As this was suggesting an evening setup, I treated the picture very differently (see attachment). I also added a very slight angle adjustment using the horizon line.

Nicely done. I like the lighter water area where the clouds must be less dense. I would remove the bird also. |

Interesting twist adding an old picture feeling. I like it like this.
It would be great to see the original, and interesting to see what other members of this group would come with this same original. |

Just beautiful. I agree with the comments above in respect to the dark background. I tried to lighten it up a bit using a neutral density filter (following the ridge of the mountains on the left side. |

Very nice capture and composition. I just find the shadows under the bird a little too dark. I tried to lighten it, unfortunately, it is a bit grainy as I do not have the original file. |

What a nice scene - wonderful glow with all the lights.
The only problem I found in this great pictures comes from my obsessivity with architectural photography. I straighten the picture a little bit and then tried to adjust all the vertical lines. Unfortunately, this is causing some distortion. The best way to avoid this is to have the camera exactly parallel to the buildings. |

Very nice colors and leading lines. I am wondering what was your ISO - were you forced to slow down the shutter speed because of the low light and the high f-stop and you did not want to increase your ISO too much, or did you chose the speed on purpose to get the silky water?
I personally like to see the waves (on the ocean) or the small ripples on the water surface on a lake unless the ISO becomes too high and the image very grainy. |

Just beautiful! Great job.
I agree with Judy. In respect to how long should one use one can try capturing this moment multiple times at different shutter speed and select the best one after. The effect really depends on the speed of the water and the desired result. I personally use a phone application - LExp - as a guide. This app is also very helpful when using neutral density filters. These filters are frequently needed when there is more ambient light. |

Lovely scene. It looks to me that the clear zone in the sky had burned pixels. There is also a sensor dust spot on the top right of the picture. I removed the dust spot and tried to regain some details but was not very successful (using the graduated neutral density filter). You might be able to fix this in your RAW file but this is much more difficult to correct on a JPG file. Using bracketing shots can help prevent this.
Nice capture. |
