Parfait! Belles lignes directrices.

I love it! You were pretty brave to use a 150 mm focal length.... These beasts can run fast! |

I agree with the above comments, especially those of Candy. I personally find difficult to combine the nice sky with an interesting background. Dean had a beautiful one recently. Using light painting can help with the foreground also.
This is a field that I need much more practice.... one of my problem is that I am an early bird and not a night hawk! |

Thank you for all these comments and improvements. I was looking at these wood ducks when quickly took off! Unfortunately, I could not select the background! |

Thanks. I was also annoyed by the background. I tried a different technique: using the paint brush I desharpened the background trying to add separation but it looks like your method was more effective. I will work on it. |

Very nice capture. I believe that you are facing the same issues as I do when using a low shutter speed in association with a strong or gusty breeze. The lower right branches in front of the falls were moving.
I am not good with photoshop but maybe having a second capture at high speed with exactly the same framing would allow to "freeze" the branches while keeping the smooth falls.
There is a very handy app called "Long Exp" (LExp)(by Ilya Genkin Photography - free?) that suggests a shutter speed between 1 and 1/30 sec to obtain a velvety effect with cascades and waterfalls. Up to now, using these guidelines I was happy with my results. It is possible that using an exposure of 1/6 sec during a period with no wind would have solved this issue.
Very nice work. |

Nice capture. I agree with all the comments above. Furthermore, at 1/30 sec you were lucky that there was not too much wind! |

Hi Lamar,
Sorry for taking so long to reply to your inquiry. I was able to review the original files and realized that the 0 compensation on all the individual pictures of the pano did not have any clippings. Considering this I could have done a simple pano without using the HDR technique. I did not know that at the time of the capture though. The sky was pretty bright/shadows fairly dark and I wanted to make sure that I was getting all possible details in the sky and in the shadows. In processing I could have use only the medial ones. |

Very nice! Beautiful sky and water mirror. I presume that you were at the wide end of that lens - 24 mm or so. I also like to use a graduated neutral density filter in this situation rather than on LightRoom or other programs.
I love it! |
