Shirley very lovely flowers, just a little darkening of the background would be great to eliminate the spots that distract. |

Lovely photo perfect colors orange and blue. great reflections. Do not think flipping the sky would work. It would throw off all the lighting and reflections. Your image is just right. You have three separate bans which works best.
You could take a brush and dodge a soft swipe across the top to give it a slight deepened shadow to balance the strength in the lower portion of the image/or not. |

Bob I have several images like this where the early light is soft and you want to capture that feeling. I have not yet found the best way yet. Building the image with color tones like Brian did really did work. I like the sunlight in Brian's first edit the sky and Mt just a little stronger and works well take the deeper green for the foreground trees to bild the contrast the greens in Julias version are strong enough. Brian's crop still wins to bring the focus on Mt Rushmore. |

Absolutely a great capture Marilyn. No, I am not a fan of tattoos but I did add a purple tint to my current grey hair. Posted: 11/27/2021 15:42:30 |

Yes Brian, I also first thought of removing the man on the right as he blends into the tunnel and odd numbers of 3 and 5 are usually recommended. There is always times when breaking the suggested rules is good. We have just had a very strong comment from everyone with differing opinions on the importance and number of people in your photo. yes, the people do add to the image. Changing the man's clothing to have more contrast and giving him a dog, large or small, would make him more welcome and add a '5' to the scene. I like the strong colors of the tunnel. |

Thanks Julia Yes, I have to agree it is more dramatic. Will make a large print of this BW version. |

Thanks Lance, very much appreciate your comments. Often get emotionally caught up at the time of taking an image that we don't really see it. Was so disappointed to have fog on the morning of our second day there. No sunrise at all how ever there was some clearing over the next 3 hours. This turned out to be more interesting than the hot midday sun. |

Yes, it was taken from the South Rim. Much better in BW than color. The cloud vs fog stands out better darker as you suggest. I was focusing on keeping the fog translucent and airy but it is stronger darker.
