not familiar with using the Lensbaby.,and how the Depth of focus works. Did you try different settings. Just curious can you control it to bring in just a little more focus area. Also if you took a similar photo of a flower like a tulip would there be more sharpness in a larger area. You can teach us the power of using this lens. I hear people really enjoy and have great fun. What are its best advantages? |

took another look... it would be hard to isolate the top flower so a different edit might be to create normal shadows on them and then use a blur to slightly blur them and then blend them into background. Do you use photoshop. there are several blur options you could experiment with. I'm not the best flower editor but there are some in our club that do an amazing job. If I see something I can share I will show you. look on our club webpage photographyclubofflaglercounty.com

Stay safe everyone. Trying to reorganize my photos in Lightroom. Tough job, keep getting interrupted trying to reedit old photos. Also trying to train myself to use a Wacom tablet. |

Must agree very nice photo. like the idea of a vignette and if you don't want to crop from bottom try a gradient filter from bottom to halfway up to trees and it will pull eyes into view of trees. you have to test different gradient strengths to find the one you like. |

Both versions work for me. Did you use a blur effect. It could well be used as a title image to a book or wedding album or in a magazine. The larger format would allow for the publisher to adjust image to suit article. Nice photo |

Very nice image that definitely relates to viewers. I agree with Brian - just a little editing of your vision would pop the image without loosing that early morning walk on a grey day. |

Were the two lower flowers in strong shadow when you saw it first? I agree they are too dark. The main Flower is strong focused and dramatic. the lower ones are fighting the composition -creating an unnatural lighting to what a viewer expects. |

The Lighting and coloring make this a charming image. very nicely captured. Just as after thought would you consider cropping a little from top.

Dave, Marilyn and Giuseppe thanks for great comments. I was disappointed that the butterfly had a clipped wing. otherwise it would have been a perfect catch. I took several more of this butterfly but none of were as crisp as the original profile shot. |
