I too noted the angle of the vases but with the painterly effect you have more leeway to have it be acceptable. the table surface could have been uneven or tilted. A very interesting still life image. the white border and green frame line give it an old fashioned effect. Also the filter effect is soft enough to imply hand painting. |

I agree very nice photo. very sharp and good editing. Also appreciate Richards comment re ears. cool. nicely done. Love that you find exciting detail in image when processing that makes the composition even better. the ears, the sunlight on the eye and the texture in the his stripes make this a great shot. |

Yes Crop of left to tree makes the birds seem to never end. Love the original color print. The BW also very dark makes it a completely different mood and works well.
did you capture a closeup of a cormorant. They are a strange looking bird. I first saw them here in Florida. |

really nice capture of synchronized flight. they are side by side as Richard says on the final up-serge. the weather had to be quite humid to capture such strong smoke trails even with enhancement using Detail Extractor filter.
I like using Detail extractor in NIKs software also. sometimes add Pro Contrast in combination. |

I also do not have practical experience with studio lighting. However I do feel that much more contrast and shadow is needed. When looking at quality BW portraits the softness of shadows softening the face and body would greatly enhance this image. She needs much more shadows to generate mystery and elegance. Try using the brush tool in Lt room and dodge and burn in softly with the contours of her body. Look at up other similar photos to see where the shadows are. When taking life drawing it is all about the lines and shadows. |
