The background and the floral foreground contrast starkly to good effect. The monochrome tan background in scratchy appearance contrast well with the clean cut appearance of the flowers in their bottle. There is an appealling simplicity to it. |

That certainly concentrates the colours in the sunlight, leaving the trees to bear the moodiness. |

I think I agree with JoAnn, with the monochrome and contrasty image lending a greater degree of creative effect. Maybe a colour layer over the top to bring back in the spectral effect over the monochrome. |

Well it certainly is something new, and creative in the full sense. The feathers act well as wings, and the moulded feminine appearances of body and stocking legs certainly lend it the Moulin Rouge feel. The antennae work well enough, but I wonder if they were sticking out from a feminine hat would they be better? (maybe another use of peacock feather).

The subject has potential. The filter is one of the contour-like ones you often see. This shows more interest than many because of the pretreatment, but more so the subject. The dog and person show well in this effect, with the sunglasses really staring out. My feeling is that a local blurring filter could be put to good effect to reduce the competitive background. Alternatively, cut out subject area and paste to a more neutral background with its own filtration. |
