I just read all your comments to the others in the group and was impressed by all of them. You are adding interesting discussion points which I appreciate. Given how much you write about their images, why don't you do the same for yours? |

Thanks for all this info, which I'll try to use but will probably forget most of the time. I have been using high ISOs sometimes so I can use a faster shutter speed. I have a hard time seeing noise so I often don't notice it (or must ask my husband about it). My camera allows very high ISO and I probably use them too much. |

I love the composition but I would like more info about how you took it and why. The guy with his surfboard is sharp and pretty bright. Was it a hazy day so that you could not make the top of the image brighter? I may have cropped the top off and lightened his face a little but if you were trying to show the kind of day it was, I guess you accomplished that.
That's why I would like to know more about the "how and why".

Thank you! A member of our camera club who is from SD recommended that we go to Crazy Horse while at the PSA festival in Rapid City, SD. We are very glad we did because it was much better and more informative than Mount Rushmore. It is being financed by individuals, no federal money being used. There are many people working on it and some tools have been invented that are making the work go faster. However, it will still take years to complete. We did take a bus partway up but never went to the top.
I did not think the polarizer would overpower the sky so if I ever am in that situation again, I will remove it. I did try to lighten it by decreasing the highlights in LR but not in Camera Raw. Another thing to remember. |

I think I like it better but I'll be interested in what others have to say. Thanks for trying it. |

That's what we said when we heard how long it would take. However, we were encouraged about the fact that they've found some ways to speed up some of the work. I think I'll just enjoy what we can now and not worry about when it will be finished. Thanks for your comments. |

I think you are right but I wanted to show how they are working on it. Thanks for the suggestion though. |

I definitely like the black and white better because it is much more striking. I agree with the other comments and continue to be amazed at what you can do with an image. |

I love it too. My only thought was that the whole image is a little dark. Was the sky that gray? |

I love how sharp the chipmunk is.
I must ask Tom why he thinks food is man-made? Much food can be gathered and it is natural (as Mary pointed out). |

I love the sky and that the castle is sharp. I'm amazed you could get it that good through a window. Getting a 9 out of 10 is good - were you talking about no comments from the judges? Did you take it in B&W or convert it?
