Jean, I hope you can stay safe - we hear about how bad the fires and smoke are. Do you live there or are you visiting? |

Thanks - I'm leaning toward that view too. |

Mary,
I see what you mean and agree that it may be better. Do you think I should leave the left and right edges where they are or crop them like I did before? Thanks for discussing this with me. |

I like both views but probably like the crop a little more. The colors are wonderful as are the clouds and the reflection. |

Emily, I added a different image when I replied to Mary and I hope you can look at it to see if I improved those water lilies at all. I must admit I had not noticed them before you pointed them out. There were a lot that day but the lighting was a real problem. |

Mary, I just replied to your comment but must have hit the wrong reply. It is under my previous comment and includes an image if you have time to look at it. |

I went back to my original and decreased the exposure in LR and did a little bit more with it before sending it to PS. I'm not sure why I had only used PS before. I did more with shadows and highlights but then left it without cropping. I think I was bothered by the white in the left side and that brown rail in the right. I only had to clone out a little of it when I cropped it a lot. I guess I could have left more at the bottom but I guess I wanted it to be exactly like the top. Anyway, I think I'm including it so you can tell me it it's better this way or what else I could do to it. Thanks! |

OK - I'll have to look at that.
We're in Huntingdon which is about 30 miles south of State College where Penn State is. If you are a native Pennsylvanian you undoubtedly know that but I find so many people who don't really know it. I grew up in the Lancaster area and went to nursing school at Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia (many years ago). |

I love the way you got her in mid-air and was wondering how you did it but I guess you told me. Her position is perfect. You must be enjoying such a cute, athletic granddaugher. |

I'm not sure. I would have to go back to look but I think there was not much there. Good idea though. If I ever get back to MD, I'll check it out. We live there but have been holing up in our vacation home in PA where it is safer. |

I wondered about that but I'm never sure if I'm seeing straight so I did not mention it. |

Very interesting and a good panorama with good exposure. I think I would like it better if the bottom was cropped off just below the tree trunk and rock. It would also be nice if the sky were not quite so bald. However, overall I like the image. |

When I first saw this, I thought it should have something else beside all that blackness but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. The stark black and white is very striking! |

I found it interesting because I wondered why he had his head so low. However, I love the colors and being able to see his fingers so well.
I'm glad you are progressing and hope you'll soon be able to hold your camera. |

I love this because of all the history it contains. I think I may have been to Jones Beach once but I'm not even sure of that. The other thing I love is the bird against that gorgeous sky. |
