Once several of you pointed out the seed in the beak and that it did not look natural I asked my husband, the real birder, about it. He said not all seeds are round and that could be one seed that extends onto the other side of the beak. You can decide but at this point I'll be lucky to be able to get rid of the black net part.
I really appreciate all the comments because it makes me really look at the image with fresh eyes. |

I agree with cropping some off the top but I don't thing the bottom crop is necessary - just my opinion. |

Wow - I guess I'd better learn how to do that. It is much better. Thanks! |

I never thought of doing that to deal with the white spot but I'll have to remember it for the future. |

I know it would be better without it but I thought cropping it out would be even worse. The bird simply would not stay still in its natural habitat so I had to use the feeder to get it. Maybe next time he'll be more cooperative. |

Great picture of the girl! I'm confused about your shutter speed comment. You must have shot it at 1/200 second not 200 seconds and I think she is sharp so I'm not sure why you would have wanted to use a faster shutter speed. The only thing I thought when I fist looked at it was that it was a shame that that was the background you had to use. If you could change it somehow, I would probably like it better. However, that is a picky point and I love the girl and how you got her looking at you and how sharp her eyes are. |

I like this image and the way you made the center sharp. I love the overall greenness of it and the little bits of purple in strategic places (I'm sure you put them there). If I have to say anything negative, it is about the white tip of that leaf which is a little distracting. However, I'm not sure I would have noticed it if our last judge at camera club had not made such a point of saying that white draws the eye and is not good for the image. It did not keep me from liking the image. |

I think your image is wonderful even though I don't like the subject. My grandsons would love it though. You are correct in that the texture and sharpness are great and due to the wide aperture the background is out of focus which also adds to it and made your cropping it in tight a good idea.
About the leaf - I would not have noticed it if you had not asked about it. I think it looks like it belongs there and I would not remove it. |

I love redbuds and you captured this one very well. All your post processing greatly improved it so you can focus on the gorgeous blossoms and it makes me want to be there. If redbuds would grow where there is not a lot of distracting stuff, it would be great but I guess we have to enjoy them where they are. |

I like the image and it certainly shows movement because of all the flying dirt. With your fast shutter speed you were able to get it sharp. It makes me wonder how fast the vehicle was moving, how many vehicles are in the rally, how far they travel and how long it takes.
The only thing that bothers me is those blurry objects across the top of the image. I also wonder if cropping off the top and a little of the right side would not make it a stronger image. Taking off the right side you would lose some of the flying dirt but the vehicle would not be dead center. Just a thought. |

I love your idea about creating backgrounds and this purple really sets off the Mezuzzah. I'm also glad to learn something about Jewish items.
I find the image very interesting and it is tack sharp. I like the way it is on a diagonal which adds to the interest. I can't find anything wrong with it. |
