33 Apr 20 Comment Friends, sorry to be so late this month. I actually thought I had entered my two-bits earlier. Bob, thanks for your reminder. It made me double check and I realized I had not spoken. I have been making masks due to our "mask up" orders. This is one year that I am glad I did not go to Mardi Gras. Hope you are all well and enjoying your special time with family without the usual demands to leave the fun of the young ones or, in my case, old ones. Please stay well. Apr 25th
33 Apr 20 Comment This is a captivating image. My eyes fell on the man immediately which proves the composition is perfect (does he have to be centered?). Maybe there is a rule that I don't know-actually this is very likely. But I think having him off center helps to set the focal point in an image with so much to see. I especially like the trees in the front of the mountains and the green of the mountains. Very, very nice. Apr 25th
33 Apr 20 Comment Love your composition. When I first looked it looked like the Glassier National Park peaks. I have only seen the Alps from the air-at sunrise they look like there are huge streaks of gold. Fantastic! I can offer no improvements. I just wish I had been there too.

33 Apr 20 Comment Bob, you are so fortunate to have such a subject that you can return to often. It is wonderful and I love the composition. Your snow image is also wonderful. As you can imagine Louisiana has very close to zero snow, so I would loose my mind over such a sight. I also like the mono version. And I second what Bob Wills says about Nik's Silver Effects. It was free, last I heard. Thanks for sharing this one. Apr 25th
33 Apr 20 Comment Randy, you are certainly dedicated to put so much work into this frame. But it is beautiful enough to deserve such work. And it surely is a good opportunity for learning. Thanks for sharing your works details. I love the pink, it is warm, soft and soothing.
What does seem distracting to me are the bare trees in front of the evergreens. There is so much texture that it is distracting to me. If you left those on the left, especially the taller ones and a few of the shorter ones just left of the center and then 2 or 3 to the right of the middle, then just cleaned up those that have fallen, I feel that it would make the remaining trees more important. It would also be more calming and with such a glorious view, you have to feel "all is well with the universe"-even though we know better. Great shots and congratulations on being such a dedicated worker.

33 Apr 20 Reply You have used the curves very nicely. Possibly a graduated gradient filter would have helped you sky. You did move the horizon high, but even higher would also help. I like your green. I don't like grass to look unearthly green. Very nice. Apr 25th
33 Apr 20 Comment Bob, I will pass on what a mentor told me about leveling: You can level by using reflections-the point on a tree to the same point in the reflection can serve as a leveling method. Using that method with a point near the top of the first (actually any of them, but I would select the narrowest) hoo-doo to a point near the bottom of the narrow part should level the piece. I have done this many times (I can't shoot straight) and have found that it really works nicely.

Great Shot and especially nice with the fellow in it. Brings you shot into creative, rather than tourist.

33 Apr 20 Comment I use PSCC and have used PS of 20 years. I always kept it updated, so never thought about it being old on previously processed images. I will find my original RAW file and see if I can bring this one to life.
Thanks.

33 Apr 20 Comment Thanks to all of you for your input. I agree that the mountains look rather blue. I will see if I can fix that.
I use Photoshop CC for processing. I have not thought about making the vignette off center, but I think it is a good idea. I will try.

Thanks.
