Thanks, Bob. I think the dark corners are due to a vignette. I had difficulty trying to add a little variation to the sky so tried the vignette. But you are correct it is dark. I think I need to put a new sky in. I have been thinking about it and think some radial lines might be dramatic. I hope for a chance to work on it this week, but every day is full. We will see. I do appreciate your help. |

Thanks, Paul. I will see what I can do with it, I feel sure that more contrast would help. |

That is a good idea, Marilyn. I have considered a couple of applications, but have not tried any yet. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Yes, I do like the monochrome. I have a few shots that I havve changed to monochrome. But I thought I might could process this better. I am just not sure where I went wrong. Thanks for your suggestiion. Mono is better than what I had. |

I had hoped to give the viewer the same sense of "What a tremendous loss" in the destruction of this grand old building. I think part of the problem in capturing it is that the building is so large. But then the size of the building is part to the story. I can start over with the raw file and process again, but before I put that much time into I want to know if it is worth the time. One thing that I really don't like is over processing, so starting over may be the best thing, if it seems worthy. Thanks for your suggestions. |

A very well planned composition. I give it an A+. The blue damsel is so difficult to find, I think I would move it nearer a 1/3 intersection or eliminate. I am amazed that you even saw it. Color nice and nicely reflected, greenery nicely placed and strong enough to be demanding of attention, the greenery balances the three flowers nicely, and the reflection is perfect. Nice work! |

Nice title for a government building. I really like the columns. I wonder how the upper story in the center is sharp, but the story just below it is really fuzzy. Cameras and lens are really strange in many ways. I like the way the eye goes immediately to the dome and I love those sharp columns. I really can't think of any solution for the fuzzy part and don't know of anything else I would try to change. Maybe try again with a different lens. |

This is an interesting shot. I wonder why it is so dark for 3 p.m. I feel there is something in the dark areas, but I can't tell what it is. I would lighten it enough to have some texture or some idea of what is there. Another possibility might be to crop to a square and eliminate the very left portion. You may not like those suggestions, but they are what I would try. |

Ken, I would say that you definitely achieved your objectives. This is very impactful and dramatic. Very nice processing, a nice use of the "S" to carry the eye through the image. Nice work! |

Sounds like a wonderful trip for the young. I find the story is really nice and I do think Ken's suggestions would make this a wonderful image. Nothing looks blown out and so you captured what you needed to in order to make this into a really good trophy. |

The lines and weight of this image are very impressive. I agree that the dark's need to be brought up. It is easy to treat the separate areas in Adobe Camera Raw using the adjustment brush, if you have it available. You can lighten any area and darken any area individually. One other point: the horizon may not be level as the fence tilts down. It could be the perspective or the actual curve of the ground. It really is a lovely area with the mountains behind and the little village tucked away so nicely. good luck with your adjustment. This can be a real prize. |
