Paul, what a wonderful, dramatic, simple image. It is stark (B & W perfect), but has a warning feel to it. I love everything about it. So sad to see such decay. We need those warnings. |

The color and the cloud shadows over the scene are beautiful. I looked hard to see what worried me and I think it is is that the forward center is so much the same. I used Adobe Camera RAW filter to increase the contrast and the clarity and then I increased the green saturation. It is subtle, but I think it is enough. Others can see it with a fresh eye and decide that. The image is a look at a very nice, pleasant afternoon or morning. I love it. |

Bob, just be glad that you got there at all. I have wanted to go for a number of years, but the flood has about washed away that possibility. I really like that your photo is different and not the one frame that everyone captures. I agree that a little more detail in the foreground would be nice, but I like that shadow because it suggests the setting of the sun and says that time moves on and the perfect moment must be captured. It tells the story for me. Nice work. |

Ken this is a very interesting pano. I especially like the top 25% of the image. It is sharp, the line of the horizon is interesting and the sky is beutiful. I like the shape of the bog, but since my bludberries grow in a pot and I have not seen such a bog, I never would have identified it. My loss, I am sure. You did a great job on the pano process. I can't imagine using lighroom. I just could not function with it. You are way smarted that I. |

I share your feelings. This house was built about 1870-80. In the 1950's the heir who lived there decided to burn the furniture. He had a neighborhood boy help him drag the furniture to the window and throw it out the window to a fire burning in the yard below. Yet, somehow the house survived the nutty heir. This view is the back of the house. There was heavy equipment in front of the house. It was beautiful to look down an oak alley at the house. Now they are putting in an entire subdivision of houses all around it. Disgraceful!
Paul, you should have bought that house. Next time we will take up a collection to help you. With all the problems I have had with my house, I have plenty left to share-ha. The latest is that 2 days after everything was finished, I walked into the kitchen and found it flooded. It has taken a month to find the leak-a brass fitting for the refrig water line with a minute hole in it. Now they are telling me that the flooring of my entire downstairs has to be replaced. I don't know if I can tolerate more workers in my house all day everyday. At least insurance will kick in this time. Until now it has paid for nothing. My flood insurance lacked 5 days of being effective. |
