Dan, this is a lovely stream and I like the the smoothing of the water. I see lots of blue in the entire image. It is okay for the water to be blue, but not the the tree trunks and woods. If you use ACR you can reduce the saturation of blue in the woods and brighten the yellows. I do not use LR so can't address that possibility. A really nice scene. |

I like this trail/road and the apparent difficulty in using it. Kids in a Jeep would be delighted with this challenge. I do think a little more contrast, especially in the rocks, would make it more exciting. Nice eye. |

Great job on this very dramatic scene. I love the forcefulness of the wave crashing and the flag trying to resist the wind. I think you would have had to move to another position in order to get the rocks on the left and the flag in 1/3 position. I hate iot when people say to move 3 steps to the left. It is too late once the moment has passed. So I would leave it as is. The rule of thirds is not iron clad and no execution squad will capture you if you don't use it. It is just a guide. |

This is an exciting photo to me. I like the vastness of the mountains and the small buildings. A nice job in spotting this. I agree that a little more detail would be nice. But I know in such a long shot it is difficult, much depends on the lens and camera. Your Nikon lens surely was capable of getting what detail there was. Nice image. |

Thanks so much, fellows. I am sorry, but I think I mislead you slightly. This was not set up. I was photographing the sunset and looked over to the side to see my grandsons fishing. They had no idea that I took it. I wish I had thought to have the grandson on the left raise his pole, but I did not. I just saw the image in my head and grabbed it.
Thanks, Larry, for the rule on boarders. I have never heard that one and it is a help. I will reduce that boarder. I had thought maybe it needed to be grayed a little, but left it white. Is there a rule for colors in the boarder? |
