Paul, first let me congratulate on your knowledge of LR. I tried it and hated it. I finally decided to remove it from my computer and never to allow it to make my life measurable again. Life has been much better without LR. You are just smarter than I.
Now for your photo, it is a beautiful building and the detail is sharp and interesting. Is the building really that gold? It seems almost to be covered in gold leaf. The composition is very nice and the clouds are wonderful. I also get a feeling that the building wants to lean backwards. It is more in the middle than the ends, that I feel the leaning. I expect it is a lens distortion. Does anyone else feel it or is it just me? I am not sure if this is part of what Larry mentioned or if he means something else. I do feel that more sharpening would make it look cartoonish. It is lovely and I loved your history of the building. |

Dan, You are smart to try this long exposure. Your image is lovely in spite of the focus problem and the over processing effect. It Has a cutting edge modern look which uses some challenging tools. Congratulations on trying this. Keep at it and you will sort with the eagles. |

I very much like the softness and the old look of your image. Your re-do lacks the depth and character of your original. Interesting subject and a very nice photo. |

Ken, this is beautiful. It makes me want to see more images of this waterfall. I cannot find the horse shape so it does not bother me. Very nice job. Thanks for including the full fall. I loved these. |

This is a very nice capture. It reminds me of childhood. I can image sliding down the hillside on a cardboard box. Though I think this mountain is too tall for that. The only possible thought for improving it might be to move the lightest spot over enough to get it out of the center. That lightest spot seems to be your focal point. Chances are it was not possible or you would have done it. |

Thanks, Fellows, for your comments. Yes, I see that the leaves look out of focus. I checked and the original has sharp leaves. I believe the problem is because I opened the jpeg image and then downsized it and saved it for submission. I recall noticing once before that if I downsized a jpeg a second time the image did not look focused. I did not know if that was just a strange one time thing. Now I am thinking that it is unwise to downsize a jpeg image. Have any of you had this happen? I promise the original is sharp and that is the only possibility I see for the change. |
