How wonderful to live in such a beautiful area. I can't imagine climbing those huge rocky mountains.
Thanks for your comments. I had wondered if the foreground was too bright. I agree that it helps to take it down some. I do like the layer that the foliage adds. It was a fun trip for me and I would love to go back. I usually go with my son and his family twice a year, but this year is different. I have cancelled four trips so far.
Thanks for the good wishes on the house. They have done nothing for 2 weeks now. I hope they get the move on very soon. |

Paul, thanks for the chuckle. I'll make sure you are invited to the house warming next June! |

Paul, this is another of your great images. I felt at first that it seemed a little hazy, but decided that the understated, soft colors pointed to the age of the building. Paul's version is also beautiful. There is value in both views. How fortunate you are to see such a lovely place. |

So glad you joined us, Sherryl. How fun to have a NZ friend. I live in Louisiana. Your festival sounds like a lot of fun, too. This is a very nice capture. Babies move so fast, you did well to grab it when you did.
My only suggestion is to burn the back of the lady on the left so that the crooked bar doess not shine so. That entire area has an odd look, I guess because of the angle of her arm, but it will not attract as much attention if it is darkened a little. Nice work. |

This is a very emotional image. I agree that it needs contrast. I do not do LR ever. I tried it and hated it, so cannot not help you in that regard. However I love Bridge. If you open it in Bridge, up the contrast and clarity a little, then use the adjustment brush at the top to brush over the sky with a reduced exposure, and the fields with a little less reduction of exposure, it will come alive. I upped the saturation of the blue and the green a little. I worked on it just one minute, but see what you think. |

Lloyd, this is a fascinating image. I love the fields and grasses. I try often and have found that they are very difficult to capture. You did a great job. The color supports that feeling of magic that the grasses offer. Great job. |

Judi, this is absolutely beautiful. Capturing the Milky Way as if it is coming from Mt. St. Helens is ingenious. Everyone sees something different and I like the foreground. If it had more detail it would not make sense to me. If the ground is lite, you cannot see the stars that well, so I feel that it needs to be dark for me to understand the image. But I have been wrong a few (thousand) times in the past. I am sure that the others know more than I. At any rate I love your image. Great job! |

This is a breath-taking image. I do feel that it would help to soften the bright yellow-greens. The other colors are soft and alluring. The yellow-green is more agressive and does not match the mood of the image. You did well to see the possibilities of this image and capture it. It is lovely. |

Thanks so much for your comments. I am glad you commented about the trees on the right. I very nearly cropped them, then decided to send as photographed and see what you all thought. I will do it before using the photo.
Thanks for the good wishes. Last week passed with outanything being done. But one way or another we are closer to getting the work done than we were two weeks ago. |
