Thank you Erik. Even though I tried to tone down the brightness of the reflection, it didn't seem to be sufficient. I think I need to move my light source a little further away from the subject next time also.

I agree with your feedback on the reflection. It bothers me too. I don't understand why it created multiple reflections. It may have something to do with the space between the top of the glass and the painted reflective material on the back of the glass. Just my theory. I will try a plain piece of glass next time. (Unless I come up with another brilliant idea :-)! Thanks for taking the time to try and edit out the repetitions. |

These are beautiful blossoms. There is a lot of detail to be captured in the individual flowers. The image is pretty soft throughout. I'm not sure if that was your intention or if you had to contend with movement. Maybe a faster shutter speed to "stop the action". |

This is a great photo! It has a painterly (is that a word?) quality. You managed to capture the capillaries in the petals and the leaves which creates wonderful texture. You have a very nice composition here (especially by removing the distracting elements). It is interesting to see how you were able to bring out the green color of the leaves that were lost in your pre-image. I can't decide if I like the overall darker tone of your finished product. I want to brighten up the white petals just a tad and yet, I might not have made the same suggestion if the pre-image was not included. When I'm that ambivalent, I always say "leave it alone".
Gosh, this really reminds me of the hand painted images of botanists that you see in museums. Nice job once again!
I am seriously considering the ring flash. I like the way it lights an image without creating lots of reflections. |

I love this photo! Your composition is right on. The colors are fantastic. This might be a good opportunity to do some focus stacking to get a little more depth of field, but that is just nit picking and although they may not move very quickly, it may not be possible to get too many slices in time. What a wonderful eye he/she has and you have that tack sharp! Nice job. |

Good catch seeing the sunset reflection in the bumper and for kneeling down on asphalt! Everything in your image is nice and sharp. Since you had the camera on a tripod, you might consider taking yourself out of the reflection so that we only see the florida skyline. I do like the elements you chose to include in the photograph. The shape of the headlight balances the shape of the reflector. I like the simplicity of the colors. The only suggestion I might offer regarding the dark wedge in the lower right is to change your perspective by moving your tripod to the right so that more of the black is included and feels intentional. |

Anu, you really are very creative! You see new things in such ordinary objects. It is so interesting to use the bark to join the leaves together. There is a lot to look at here so I chose to focus on a few elements primarily in the right upper quadrant where I can really see the texture of the leaf against the smooth background and the colors as I think you intended. Your photo looks very sharp to me and your lighting helps to accentuate the deviations in the leaf. My only suggestion for improvement would be to use lighting in such a way so as not to create too many hot spots which takes away from the intensity of the colors. I think you lost some of your detail in the left side of the photo because of the light reflecting off of the surfaces. |
