We had a long discussion on this very fact when there, as it was a completely isolated area with an awful lot of junk around. I did feel the desolation more than at other sites we have seen. Thanks for the astute comments. |

Thanks Henry, I agree, and cannot remember why I did not work on separating the components. Maybe my husband was in the way!? Always a good excuse. I need to go back and look at other captures of the same scene. |

Thanks Palli. I always appreciate it when someone takes the time to improve on my submission, and you have done so most successfully. |

Thanks Jack. You are right about the hasty adding of white to the trees. More care was needed. |

Hi Henry, I guess I'm not with the group on this one. I think that you delicate processing is lovely, and separates it from the run of the mill recording of an interesting scene. A little cropping on the bottom as well as the left would bring me more into the scene. Well done! |

Hi Emil, I love the perspective and the shapes of the upper branches are beautiful. I am wondering about the advantage of the five second exposure. It seems that the blurring was intentional. I would consider a crop of the bottom though, so the less than half of the image is blurred. |

Palli, You always find such interesting offerings. So simple and yet very effective. Well seen! I think you processing is great, but do agree that the toning takes away from your image. |

Hi Gary, I think this would have been an interesting shot even without your granddaughter as it is so graphic. She, of course adds the something special to it. You captured her in the perfect position for great composition. Wispy clouds just add to the romance. |

Hi Chuck, You have taken an everyday scene and with thoughtful composition elevated it into a great image. I like that you have toned it slightly, but think that more contrast is warranted, leaving the clouds as is. I would definitely brighten the track. |

Hi Jack, Photographing moss is not as easy as it seems. Getting detail to show does not always work. You have really shown an lovely image with delicate light and shadow. I do agree that more base is better. |

Hi Arik, Kudos to you for this most interesting shot. Difficult to do and even more so in IR. I love the abstract quality of the back cyclists and the isolation of the central figure. I am wondering about cropping out some of the right as the blur there is more confusing. I think it would still leave enough space for the continuity of the rider. Well done! |
