Terry,
I'm so pleased you found a home in IR. I think you have a very successful image here and I'm looking forward to seeing many more. Melanie DD66 |

Emil, Thank you for trying to work with my image. I think I have to accept that this is not a successful IR image. The time of day did not work here. I think that all great safari images are taken in early morning or late afternoon and trying the premise that one can take out the IR camera in harsh light did not work with this ele. No matter, I think I have many really good color images. |

Hi Emil,
I'm not usually a fan of pictures of artwork, but I think you have achieved something special here. Never thought to do paper toning in IR Great idea, thank you. The tone certainly gives a eerie feeling. Would you consider taking out the tree on the right? I think the stark look would add to it and make it look less balanced. |

Hi Palli,
This does look like night. Kudos to you for being able to see that. It's so interesting to see the hardness of the walkway against the softness of the trees and hills. also great to have a vanishing point. As for me, I usually hate to have people in my pictures, you were lucky on this day. |

Gary, I want to sit there too. There is so much that is so pleasing to look at. What a great place for a bench. The lead lines are great. How did you manage the detail achieved all the way to the horizon line? |

Hi Chuck,
This scene is beautiful. I do find that fine leaves difficult to separate are hard to process. When I looked at your original, I thought that it may also work as a landscape panorama with cropping out about half of the trees and just a little off the bottom. Do you have any interest in that view? |

Hi Jack,
I am always amazed at how you manage to make fairly ordinary subject matter look so mystical. As you can see we are all fascinated. Will share more about how you manage to do it? You seldom show your raw image. It would be great to see your start point. |

Oh Ernie,
Your tonality is wonderful, and that sky is perfect. You should save it and use it again.
I wonder if you would care to tell us more about your work flow that helps you to get these crisp tones? |

Thank you all for your comments. All valid. I think my monitor may need some checking as my image does not show as dark as you are all seeing. That being said I did reprocess my ele and wonder if you all think this is any better. This time I used detail extractor and less contrast. Posted: 04/08/2020 10:47:24 |
