Emil, I really love the sky in Gary's version. There is also a lot of drama now, which you may or may not like. |

Jack
I think that Gary's version is a bit too much. The shadows are too dark. It could be a little more subtle. (Sorry Gary) |

Hi Emil,
Welcome! Welcome!
I'm really enjoying this image. I agree that buildings are great in IR. Your conversion is spot on and the tones are most appealing. Lucky to have such a great sky. My initial reaction when I first saw it, was that it should be cropped, as the smaller structure seemed a distraction. I have changed my mind. The balance would be totally off without it, and I like that it is peeping out of the foliage. I agree that cloning out the pole is the answer. I do note that you took out the cable across the sky. There are still remnants of it and I'm sure you would want to fix that.
Well done!

Hi Palli,
A simple scene, ideal for Infrared. It seems that your focal point are the clumps of grasses. If so, at least one of them should have been completely shown which would have added depth at the base and may have become the lead in for the scene. A few steps to the right maybe?
Really good conversion an tones.

Hi Gary,
Beautiful and tranquil. All the elements tie in well with each other. The tones chosen sure enhance the scene. I love the balance of the reeds in lower left with the trees across the water. My only quibble is with your frame. I think it is too heavy for the delicate image and would like it to be narrower, just an edging.
As for the white spots in the water, my personal choice would be to remove them as some of the appear as dirty spots. Purist would of course say , leave them alone as that is what was there. Either way - gorgeous!

Hi Jack,
Great Scene. I like the shadows which create a wonderful lead in. I wonder if a step to the right would have separated the columns for more definition in them. The trees are beautiful but don't stand out against the sky enough. I suggest using "overlay" in the history brush tool, on the sky which would darken it while leaving the clouds light. Let me know what you think. |

Hi Ernie,
You got me.... not only do I think that architecture and IR were made for each other, but you gave me reflections, which I love. I like your crop. Showing three complete windows, with all the repetitions really works. I like that it is broken up by different foliage in each section. Tones are in keeping. I think adding a little contrast to push the whites of both the trees and the building would make it really pop.
Great Job! |
