Loved Melbourne. Beautiful city. Also had the privilege of driving the Great Ocean Road as far as the apostles. Was absolutely gorgeous. |

Nathan you are quite right about the "dirty" clouds. Did not look that heavy handed on my monitor. Sorry. |

Beautiful Barn. You have captured the texture and grit of the building. The sky is gorgeous as only IR can do. I love the added bonus of the washing line. If it were mine I might try darkening the upper roof and the grass close to the barn. Never-the-less, I do wish that it was mine! Well done. |

Very interesting image giving me lots to look at. I understand why you included the whole of the sky as it is really lovely in the top third. But I'm sure you want my eye concentrating on the lower half where you have the actual picture.
A panorama is much more effective. I did manage to find detail in your sky as well as in the very black rock faces. It is your image and you are welcome to reject my editing attempt. |

Lovely to have you in our group. Welcome.
We visited Australia last year so had the opportunity to photograph these magnificent trees. You have captured beautiful design detail on the bark, showing sharpness where it is needed. Your tree stands out from the background making it an obvious center of interest. I really like the echo shape of the distant tree on the left. Your toning choice enhances. |

Craig, Your color image is well handled. The colors look natural and balanced. Your raw image seems to have luminosity and sharpness that has been lost in the color conversion. I wonder why that happened. Maybe you can explain it to me. The landscape is lovely and well seen, beautiful shape and form. I think it is really great that we are seeing some color IR. |

Hi Palli,
Welcome to our group. I'm looking forward to seeing your work. Thanks for your helpful critique. I absolutely agree that the buildings on the right need to be toned down (as I have on the print I made). I did play with the perspective, but maybe not quite enough. As for the power lines, they are part and parcel of Cuba. Power and electric lines are everywhere, most haphazard. I conscientiously have decided not to remove them from photographs as I feel that they are so part of the culture there. I do realize that this may not always work for the viewer. |
