Great composition, especially in getting a sharp focus from the foreground to the background. Some may quibble about the silver things on top of the barn roof, but they were there and sometimes you've got to live with what you've got. They don't bother me at all. To me, the image looks slightly oversaturated. You might also try raising the shadows in the porch area to better showcase the door and the shrubs on the side. This looks like a great place to visit! |

You've created a very painterly, soft look. I find it very peaceful. I enjoy seeing the soft, muted colors. Your addition of the haze accentuated the dreamy look I think you were after. Can't think of any improvements to this nice shot.

Looks like you had perfect timing to capture the sun setting behind the old bridge. To me, it's very serene and peaceful, a perfect sentiment for the end of the day. The reflections of the fading sunlight in the water draws the eye to the bridge and the sinking sun on the horizon. I think you did a nice job composing this one. My only suggestion would be to consider lightening the shadows just a bit to better distinguish the trees (?) on the left. However, that's just a thought but it probably works fine as is. |

Welcome to our group! You're off to a great start by posting such a striking image. I love the abstract starkness, the muted colors and faded background. Your high shutter speed also enabled you to capture a sharp focus. I assume you didn't use a tripod since you didn't mention it. You've also demonstrated how you can take a fairly unattractive landscape and turn it into a beautiful piece of art. (Like now, you'll find that many times we simply compliment images rather than offer ways to improve them.) I'm looking forward to seeing much more of your work in the future. |
