I'm not one to add objects to an image either. Just not my style. I like to work with what I have. And sometimes you've got to work with what's there. Suggestions often pertain to building our skills. We learn from comments about our posted images so we can try to make all of our images better the next time. |

Wonderful capture. Theresa nails it when she says it's a very serene image. The shoreline and sea are perfect. I've come back to look at your shot several times before commenting. Here's a suggestion: The rocks on either side, and the rocks leading into the water, draw my eye out to sea -- and then nothing. It was almost a disappointment! In my opinion, the vast emptiness in the distance needed an object to fill so much open space. Could be ship, could be sunset, could be pretty cloud. Of course, you didn't have anything here, but for the future, if you encounter a beautiful setting like this, try to find a focal point to anchor the image in the distance. |

I agree with Theresa's and Tom's comments. I think you could spend a lot of time at this place and capture many more images. Many times there are great opportunities looking at the smaller perspectives as well as the larger ones like you've done here. |

A gorgeous shot! I love the composition, the colors and the trail leading into the image. The light shining through the branches seems a little too bright and pulls my eyes off the trees and path. I think you could brush over that area and dodge it slightly to reduce the exposure. Otherwise a perfect shot. |

Well done. I especially like how the tree is balanced by the pink clouds in the sky. The work you put into this really shows. |

Tom summed it up: Great visual impact and interest. Keep in mind that if you ever want to enter nature photo contests, this would be disqualified. You've got the "hand of man" visible at the sawed off stump. Just saying that you can have beautiful images that won't be allowed in these competitions. Personally, I don't enter contests, so I don't care. I just like to look at beautiful images like this, stumps or no stumps! |
