I agree with Peggy -- really, really well done! And I love the story-telling aspect. |

What a great shot! I love the patterns, lines and colors. Wonderful composition. For my personal taste, I find it a bit too gritty. |

A very nice image. I think this would make a perfect notecard. |

Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated. I would definitely add Bosque del Apache to your list. We've been in the spring and winter months. I suggest doing during the winter. We've been in January and February. It's COLD in the morning so be prepared. However, the array of birds is phenomenal in the winter! There are thousands of snow geese, Canada geese, ducks and sandhills lifting off and flying everywhere. You'll also spot bald eagles and other birds of prey. Be sure to arrive early in the morning for the gorgeous sunrises and then late in the afternoon for the liftoffs. I probably won't return in the spring again due to the lack of birds. Avoid the crane festival in the fall, as the place is packed with other photographers then. The winter off months will mean fewer people and more opportunities to get the shots you'd like. I have a Canon 7D and paired it with a Sigma 100-600 telephoto. That's what you'll need for the closeups but a wider lens will get you the nice landscapes and liftoffs. Be sure to take a tripod. However, most of my shots, excluding this heron, were shot from the car, using a beanbag for stability. |

I think you're right. The sweeping shoreline gives an illusion of a tilted horizon. Of course, it could also be my bad eyes!! Again, nice image. |

What a nice location! You captured it well. The vertical perspective also works nicely here. Sorry, but I could not notice any sky replacement. The original and modified versions both look the same to me. I also couldn't tell any blur, but again it's probably me. I think you basic LR edits did the trick. I like how you stopped down with the ND filter. You always do such a great job with your images. |

This is a super gorgeous shot. You captured it at the right time. The light and fog combined to create a beautiful setting. The only suggestion I have is to check your horizontal lines. The ocean to the right looks like it's leaning slightly off the page. Maybe it's just me but that's the way it appears. |

I can see why you are fond of this picture. Reminds me of those wonderful photographs we'd see in Life Magazine. Theirs, like yours, are very illustrative of a story or a particular scene. The only suggestion I have would be to crop off more from the left to bring even more focus and attention on the old barn. However, that's just an idea but I think the way it looks now is perfectly fine. |
