Perfect job of processing, especially removing the little bushes in the immediate foreground and on the left. I agree with Jerry that it would have made a stronger composition if you could have positioned the camera so that the tree would be more off to the side in order to get more of the lake. However, I don't know if it were physically possible for you to have done that. Just saying, if it had been possible. |

Really nice job sharpening this up. I like the subtle colors of the poinsettias. This would make a nice notecard. |

Nice job! Loved how you tilted the image and removed the highway by using it as a platform for your Christmas message. |

I like the zig-zagging concept of the design. Unfortunately, the clutter around it detracts from your concept. The reeds in the foreground, the buildings behind it and the semi-unattractive shoreline detracts from the patterns and lower the quality of an otherwise nice composition. The lesson here for me is that we can't always execute a good idea because of extraneous elements in the composition that are out of our control. |

Nice composition and perfect cropping. To me, the light inside the window distracts from the simple shape of the pottery. I think the simple shape of the pot and interesting vines would stand out better against a darker background. I admire the amount of processing you did to achieve this. However, I like the original better. The weathered window frame perfectly sets off the pot's pretty muted tan. |

Perfect job of capturing the colors. I agree with Paul that it's a "nice warm, brilliant image." From a composition standpoint, I find it lacks a strong focal point. The road leads to the intersection but even that lacks anything strong enough to grab my attention. To me, this appears more like a vacation snapshot of aspens with yellow leaves. I don't know the physical layout of the setting, but maybe if you had stepped back farther and had more of a long view looking into the photo. That might have helped. I'm just saying this as a suggestion for the future, and again not knowing the surroundings you were dealing with. You've definitely got all the technical aspects of the shot down perfectly. |

I find everyone's comments very interesting and insightful. This shows how an image elicits different reactions among viewers. Some comments see a social commentary on the living conditions and poverty. I'm not that deep! I was only struck by the beauty of the composition. There is no right or wrong comment expressed here or way to look at the image. That's the wonderful aspect of a photograph that conveys such an emotional impact -- we can each take something away from it, whether it's simply enjoying the rainbow of colors or perceiving a social statement. I trust that Venkat would be pleased that we are all enjoying his image in our own ways. |

This is fabulous. Love the colors and the composition. It's very rich and soothing. Wish that there weren't so many power lines around, but you can't help that. Great capture. |

Beautiful! Love how you used a slower shutter speed to soften the spray from the waves. The trees and bluff perfectly frame the image. And the gorgeous colors in the sky provide a wonderful backdrop. Great work. |

Great capture! Love the transformation into a black and white. The cropping and composition are outstanding. Can't think of a thing to improve this beauty. |
