I can't add to the comments above other than to reinforce Jerry's observation about how all the lines converge on the lake and then how the yellows along the stream lead the eye to the distance mountains. Perfect composition. Wish we hadn't had to cancel our annual fall Idaho trip this year! |

Nice capture and very unusual. I especially like Marti's edits. I feel it enhances the image. |

Nicely composed, especially with the bike rider drawing the eye into the frame and then the road carrying it through. I also agree with both Al and Marti about the sign being distracting. I'm like Al -- that's where my eye first went and stayed. I like Marti's work to remove it. I feel it makes for a stronger image. Great colors! |

I really like this! I agree with your decision to crop down to the red and yellow. That gives this a lot of pop. The photographer Art Wolfe does a lot of this type shots because they remind him of the artist Jackson Pollack (sp??). Anyway, I like abstract photo shots like this much more than abstract paintings. Great work here. It's like something I'd see in an art museum. |

Beautiful capture of the falls colors. Wish we had more of this down in South Texas, albeit without the winter snow! Nicely balanced composition with the wooden fence and trail or road leading into the frame. Perfect job of removing the distracting trash can and minor cropping. And great processing to bring out the colors. Very enjoyable image to look at. |

Great composition. You captured this at exactly the right moment. It's obvious that you'd taken this trip before and planned on when to shoot. I agree with Jerry about the clouds appearing blown out and the mountains too blue. However, I'd be concerned about cropping down too much as this would take away from the nice engine smoke which is part of the story element. For my personal taste, I feel there is a little too much saturation which make the trees appear too garish. |

What a great shot! Nice composition and the colors just radiate off the trees. Perfect reflection in the water. |

A beautifully captured sunrise. Your enhancements are perfect. The duck is so small, even after the enlargement, it almost appears like a twig or other distraction. Maybe just remove it. Anyway, I enjoyed your shot. Very nice! |

I feel this is a perfectly composed image. I like how the trees and lighthouse counterbalance the open waters on the left. I appreciate how you replaced the clouds, although the clouds in the original might have offered the perspective of how the lighthouse appears in stormy weather. Overall, however, the image seems a little dark to me. Maybe open up the exposure enough to capture more of the details of the shoreline. |
