I kept returning to this image before posting anything, thinking it reminded me of something I'd seen before. And then it came to me. This looks like what an artist might provide for a hardback dust cover on a classic novel about the Old West. You've taken a rather drab initial image and gave us an entirely fresh way of looking at this. I hope you take this as a compliment -- there was a lot of nice artwork on those books. |

I agree with Peggy and Larry. Really enjoyed looking at this one. I especially like how to brought out the colors and cropped exactly right. Just wondering about another potential shot while you're in a similar situation. I wonder what a shot would look like if you got really close to the fungii and focused exclusively on the fine textures, kinda an abstract image. Just an idea.... |

A very nice image. I like the way you enhanced the colors and the creative use of the reflection in the pool, kind of a Monet look. I agree with Jerry about the thin line at the bottom. This could easily be cropped out. I don't find the little bush at the lower left a big distraction. If you removed it, you'd be left with a big empty space that would draw the eye off the page. So I don't know how to handle it, other than leave it be. |

You did an admirable job of improving your original capture. Not only did you brighten the building, you also added some texture and brought out the colors. In short, you took a rather drab looking image and turned it into something that is quite enjoyable to look at. |

To me, this is a wonderful street scene. The black and white conversion is perfect and sets the mood for the image. You did an especially good job of beheading the man at the lower left. I agree that this removed a distraction from the your main focal point. Nice work. |

I knew this reminded me of an artist whom I admire. What a compliment -- to be compared to Edward Hopper!! |

I agree with Theresa and Paul -- this is a wonderful shot that perfectly captures the mood. I'd leave a day earlier, too! I especially like the way you used the radial filter to brighten the snowy area. I need to try using that filter some on my shots. Great job. |

Beautiful sunset view. Can't think of a way to improve it. I notice that you used at Nikon 28-300 mm lens. I've got a 70-300 mm Canon lens and use it on about 75% of my shots these days. Both your Nikon version and my Canon are super versatile and provide some nice sharp images. |

You keep knocking these night shots out of the park. Great job of presenting new and fresh perspectives. I like how the light at the cabins really gives this one some added color and pop. |

Really nice shot. Great capture of the tire tracks leading into the frame. I actually think you have two more potential ways to crop this: First, crop out the buildings in the background so the tracks lead to the water. And second, crop to the edge of the sand so you focus strictly on the patterns in the sand. All three versions, including your initial one, provide a graphically pleasing image. One small item: The horizon dips slightly to the left. A small adjustment to straighten it would help. Again, great job of capturing a creative image. |
