I've been to that lighthouse! There's a steep trail that starts at an old WWII coastal artillery battery and winds to the top. You can't go inside because it's an active Coast Guard station that monitors for boats in distress at the mouth of the cape. The Coast Guardsmen/women are stationed in that little building to the right of the lighthouse and peer across the waters with high-powered binoculars. As I recall, Lewis and Clark actually stopped about where Trinda took this shot before moving across the Columbia River to establish a base camp for the winter. These are very treacherous waters and you got a fabulous shot of the wave. I agree with the comments about over processing of the bluff. |

Wonderful shot and great technique of stacking the images. One of the best of the Comet Neowise that I've seen. Congratulations! (I also love the title!!) |

Great set up and composition. You framed the highway perfectly. This draws the eye into the image and points to the distant peaks. I also like the way that your HDR shots provided you with a perfect focus throughout. |

Welcome to our group! Looking forward to seeing much more of your work and hearing your comments about ours. Half Moon Bay -- what a wonderful place to photograph. A couple of comments about this image: I don't really find a clear subject here, something to grab and hold my eye. I also believe there is a slight unnatural purplish tint, which is especially prevalent in the upper left. You might wish to make a slight adjustment in your post-processing. For the future, I think you can take this same scene and make it more compelling. Take a tripod and snap a longer exposure. This would smooth out the waves and give the image a dreamy look, which I think would make it stand out as a nice piece of photography. |
