I recognize that scene -- just south of Ketchum. Plan to be there in October. Cute shot. Great sense of humor for owners to put the masks on the horses. The sky and the mountains don't add anything to the image, however. I would crop them out to draw more attention to the sculptures. |

I agree with Marti's edits. Your revisions left me wondering what I was looking at. You've captured a great image of the caterpillar and that's what Marti has strengthened with her crops. |

Love it! Great job of exercising a creative concept. Just wondering "out loud" but the staircase seems a bit bright compared to the background of the clouds. You might try lower the exposure of that particular element. To me, that might make it even more part of the natural element of the clouds.

I think you really improved this image. I agree that the original looks a little drab. What you have achieved with your revised version is to make it appear like a 19th century pen-and-ink drawing, something like you'd see in a magazine from those days. Nice work! |

Wonderfully composed S-curve. Perfect exposure and focus throughout. I feel the image would be enhanced if there was a more dramatic focal point. The river drew my eye into the frame but I was disappointed that it didn't lead to a more compelling subject.

Excellent point. Lots of times I'll take "snapshots" just for me and my family to remember a trip. When I'm planning to share a scene in different forums, I'll work more carefully to try to make it interesting or compelling for those who didn't join us on the trip. |

Super image! Very serene. I could Zen out looking at this. Would make a wonderful showpiece in an art gallery. Can't think of anything to improve it other than kudos! |

Looks like you're about to be drenched by a thunderstorm! I appreciate how this scene would attract you -- it would me as well. My concern is that it's probably not particularly interesting. In my opinion, it lacks a compelling and interesting subject and to others may come across as only a scrubby cedar/juniper on a sage brush plain. If you were attracted by the shape of the tree, I suggest in the future to get closer (watch out for rattlesnakes in the grass) and look for interesting patterns you could capture within the design of the limbs. Since you probably won't revisit this particular tree anytime soon, I've taken what you've done and done a bit of work on the clouds to make them even more threatening. |

To me, this is an image designed to tell a story about the scale of the massive redwoods. You've achieved this by capturing the shot with a person at the base looking skyward. Nice composition. However, I don't think you need to show the entire tree. What has happened is that the person, who is critical to conveying the size of the trees, is virtually lost. We know what the tops of the trees look like and don't really need an image to show that. Thus, I think you would have a stronger story element and interest by cropping the extraneous tops of the trees and focusing on the person. |

Beautiful! Wonderful job of capturing the stars and processing the image. I think I'd enjoy sitting in your driveway at night!! |
